thing is, i think shin appears in decade as well and his transformation takes all of about five seconds there. there's a green flash of light around his body and when the light fades, presto, Shin Kamen Rider. Man, if this version of shin could meet his Tv counterpart, he'd be like 'damn, you got it easy'

I remember finding this absolutely terrifying as a kid. My parents used to own 2 doccumenterys 1 on Ultraman and 1 on Kamen Rider. They showed this and serveral clips from other seasons that were very brutal and dark for a kids show.

originally ishinomori had this kind of transformation in mind when he created kamen rider. Fortunately, the "horrific" henshin didn't become the standard. Otherwise Kamen rider series wouldn't have lasted long until the present day.

Amarrussell Amarusama well black was intended to have the same henshin and dark stories like shin...its the reason why its first episodes like a horror movie...but they lighten up the tone after that. if you dont believe me read the manga version...

Another thing in the manga Black has a lot more abilities and a lot more stronger. One of which is he can kill/revive someone from a mile away just by looking at them.

You should see the Kamen Rider Black manga if you think that. All the Kamen Rider manga series Ishinomori wrote/co-wrote are actually a good deal darker than the TV shows. Hell, his pitch for the original Kamen Rider was the Skullman, but it was rejected on account that it wasn't suitable for TV so he came up with KR afterwards.

It was for budget reasons more than anything. Rider 1 was supposed to have such a transformation, but it was simply too expensive to shoot at that time, and Ishinomori knew that he couldn't make it look right with the limitied effects they had back then. Then the belt became iconic, and the rest is history.
