Ah, all the wire work, stop motion, replace doll. They work so much better than some action cgi in nowadays kamen rider. Plus all the fighting style. Never failed to amazed me.

It's also the texture of film and resolution. Nowdays super clean digital high res video make all the little imperfections stand out super hard. Not just the suits but also sets, I noticed with the lastest seasons of power rangers too. The sets look way to fake compared to stuff like the original zordon command center even tho that command center wasn't super detailed either. These really small details really affect stuff like toku hardcore.

Also good light direction, you have no idea how a lil bit of contrast can enrich a scene. Very few films nowdays seem to get it right so they can look really flat.
