Moms on sets have been notorious for being a nightmare as their own dream for stardom is being channeled through their child. So very refreshing to see the opposite occurred here. No wonder Kami turned out so wonderful.

Dear Kami, I think just about everyone watching would say how much they fell in love with your Mom. First, she has beautiful large warm eyes (you can feel her courage and no-nonsense approach to life) 😍Second, her openness and genuineness are like a breath of fresh air Third, You are so lucky to have her and she is lucky to have you and your brother. Lastly, I can't thank you enough for this interview enriched with priceless family footage that invited us - your family of fans through a seemingly simple, relatable (despite your celebrity) spectacular journey. Made me miss my Mom as she died in 2017, and reminded me of how much I love my Mom still that much more. Thank you. ❤💛❤

These interviews are just lovely, and so important for your family to have so many personal recollections recorded this way. As I've researched my own family's history, I now realize what an absolute treasure it is to have such first person stories to pass on to future generations; I wish I had this for my family. Your mom and you are both so interesting, perceptive, and gracious, and the questions you chose and the recollections they inspired are thoughtful, sensitive, and fascinating. Thank you very much for sharing these wonderful memories.

I feel the same way about John / Elizabeth. I think he adored her. When they were together it was always my favorite, like the foundling or any time they had a scene together. Also Jim Bob was my other favorite. I always look forward to 1972 episodes because they all were alive / Elizabeth was totally adorable. And her hair, omg was it really hers? Gorgeous!

I’m 54, and I remember the Waltons being on TV at night when I was little, and I might have watched it, but I really don’t remember. I recently came across the show somehow, and OMG!! It’s so good! I can’t stop watching! I binge watch every day, and I’m on season six, episode 19, where Elizabeth had the accident that hurt her legs. I will watch the three movies after I finish watching the show, and then I will be so sad that I won’t have anymore Walton’s to watch. 😔I just think it’s so cool to be able to go on KZbin and see Elizabeth, Erin, Mary Ellen, and Mama, too, chatting together 50+ years later- I love it! 🥰 I’m going to binge watch your channel and Judy’s, to get all the details. I also bought Earl’s book, “Goodnight John Boy”, which looks like a great book. I haven’t read it yet, but I like that I can read about each episode. I’m so glad you’re here! 🥰 I love your interview with your mom!

Love these. Thank you, both, again! (No fbk but hope for more here.) Pappabob’s comment captured my sentiments. Yet I’ll add your Mom’s answer about The Firestorm & supporting diversely rich learning for children (for anyone) made me want to Cheer! I appreciate this even more by learning from your question you were allowed an education that wasn’t restricted to your mom’s/parents’ chosen beliefs. “Chosen” being the key to what you were supported to determine for yourself, through experiencing the diverse ideas and thought processes. Though without being given free reign to choose to “sass”, be condescending. Regarding trusting others & costs of living, etc., I think the population explosion that continued for decades past the 60’s has directly increased every negative, too -as expected. I think we need to actively, urgently revisit Zero Population Growth as a commitment regarding family size & openly discuss that responsibility for quality of life now & in the future. Life is better when not teeming with overpopulation of people (versus the rest of nature) & all of people’s needs competing desperately & aggressively with each other. There was more space, quiet, job security, higher pay to cost of living… &, I believe, better sense of commitment to community, to others, in the 60’s. We can improve on that now. But only by willingly stopping ourselves from overpopulating. (Thanks for allowing my free-thinking.)

Population explosion is the real cause of global warming. But since the 1980s it has been forbidden to publicly discuss this.

Yes... One admission charge and you bought tickets . Walt wanted to make it affordable for everyone to go. So for senior citizens who really didn't want to go on the rides it was perfect to buy just an entry ticket. They had the ticket booklets with letters on them the e-tickets were the most expensive. So people would buy group ticket booklets maybe by extra e-tickets. There was also free rides that were brought to you by a company like general electric. Or delta... How fortunate that you live so close to disneyland. I lived close to Disney world in Florida and I also work there.. but I basically grew up there because part of the land that was sold to the Disney company was my uncle's farm.. so we got to go and free almost my whole childhood.

I can totally see what led to all the "desirable" traits in your personality !! Your curiosity, common sense, desire to teach, friendly/natural demeanor. It's SO important to have a stable, happy, grounded, parent !!! In your case, with the added benefit of one also with a strong "work ethic" !! Enjoy !!! Just watched "The 45th Reunion" video and it provided me with the word to use here about your Mom that was eluding me earlier. That "perfect" word about her is her "WISDOM". Tell your mother that many people travel out of state to go there, so their kids sleep, cry, etc as they spent their few money that they had to travel and be able to go to Disney land, Most of us live far away, so we do not leave the parks when our kids get tired. We went to Disney once in our lives,. Most people can not go home to a local place, and they try to enjoy the few days or day that they have. Most people today, only make $12.00 an hour, people did not make the money paid to children stars back then either. In the 1980's minimum wage was 3.35 an hour. Tell, your mother she had a nice life, while others do not, and they try to spend the one day they probably got to spend it there, and then travel back home, they could have dumped off their kids with grand parents and had a good time, but they took the kids. Most people never learned about waiting until kids are older, and once they are older, they have the same tantrums and fits that small ones do. I wanted to see all of the park when I took my family in 2004, and I had a newborn and a 2 year old, and a double stroller for them to nap, a must need. like your mom said a place for the kids to rest. But I had teenagers and they got to ride rides but were greedy about themselves. we had a day in each park out of state. we stayed from when the park opened until it closed to enjoy it, because we knew we would never get to go again. I booked an advanced dinner with Shamu the killer whale and my daughter ran off in Sea World, we did not have cell phones back then, at least not us and the main stream public. I did not follow her and try to ruin the family vacation, so we wet to the Seymour the Sea lion show and watched it as a family, and we worked our way through every exhibit, and finally we worked out ways in the evening to the Killer whales swimming show and we had out dinner, and BOOM there is my missing runaway daughter happy to see us, she fell back into line and i never said a word to her, but I told her if she did that again, I would leave her and she could call the police to take her back to Tennessee. we had Discovery Cove where we swam with dolphins, Islands of Adventure, Universal, Tampa Bush Gardens and we feed the safari animals. and she never went missing again. I wanted to do things and see every exhibit as a family and she wanted to do what she wanted. she never left us again. We never got to go again, and now they are grown and live far away, we had one great family vacation and that was it, 5 amusement parks. Not everyone lives in the state and we had to see one park each day and the other days were for driving, we drove 18 hours to get there and then drove back once we were finished.

Kami, last Mother's Day a little girl read a poem about her mother at church. I distinctly remember a Walton's episode where Elizabeth read a poem about her mother in church. Kami - are you aware there are channels (all one person) out there showing thumbnails of you and other 'Walton' and many many actors shown as amputees and other disgusting depictments 'where are they now' thumb nails. The channels are under many different names - but mostly starting with 'Hollywood' such as Hollywood Celebrity Classic@HollywoodCelebrityClassi-hp4xc and Nostalga Hollywood 1960s and also Hollywood Celebrity Classics. I have reported them to You Tube, but they are not removing the channels or thumbnails - you have to do it as the person being shown as a fake clickbait and state legal proceedings if they remain. I suggest anyone you know also depicted come together as a joint decease action.
