Raiden is what is know as a tragic hero. He started off as a literal copy of snake in mgs 2, and people were infuriated. Saying just that, only later do people realize that that was the case. The patriots orchestrated the big shell incident as an experiment to combat against those who would threaten their reign, and Raiden was the unfortunate guinea pig simply because he was the only child soldier who acted differently from the numerous child soldiers that solidus trained. He became so confused, so fearful, so angry at himself that all he could do is protect the one person who gave him any sense of what is real... Snake. He only see's himself as a protector to the one who gave him any closure. Poor guy. He then became a beloved figure in the franchise because we see him undergo such an evolution. Raiden really is the hyper representation of the everyman in everyday life. Trying to fight fate, while keeping close those who gave a sense of peace

To be faair, Raiden's cyborg body is definitely not normal, not just being basically bullet-proof to 50. cal bullets, his body stood numerous many strong strikes from Vamp his, legs easily lifting 2 heavy GEKKO's breakdancing style, and he literally block Outer Haven, its more than half a Kilometer long ramming into him, Raiden's Body just blocks it at a complete stop, extreme amount of Force / Pressure that extremely heavy Ship produced, and his body literally absorb all of it, didnt even flinch till the ground break Plus, he's fast, he can just run through the hallway tnh

In its current form, the line is super weird and random, but that's because Toad's character had a lot of cut dialogue rambling on about toads. I love this scene. Raiden has gone from being Snake's pupil to being his true equal and friend. It's a great call back to a similar moment in MGS2, where Snake stayed behind to fight a seemingly impossible battle with Fortune while Raiden went ahead to fight the RAYs and confront Solidus.

Like the Snakes Stun Knife, Raidens Sword carries an electric charge (in case you played MGS2, Olga knocks him down electrifying him with the swoed) though with nanomachines on his body, the electricity could possibly disperse, such as when he throws the sword against the wall he stops sparking all around. (this is a theory still in research, cuzz kojima didn't spoke about the subject neither) Another theory is that in mythology, Raiden is a japanese god of storm and Lightning (like in Mortal Kombat Saga) like Raiden says "I am Lightning, the rain transformed", maybe kojima wanted to make a refence here aswell don't forget the room is too tight, there was no reason to start an warzone in there, CQC fitted better in there. Nanomachines suppress emotions that forbids the soldier of doing his mission, honor its not the case, therefore Liquid/ocelot had some kind of honor in some perspective

God Raiden’s arc in this game is a real tear jerker. The fact that he went from clinging to Snake’s leg like a scared child, begging him not to go and die and leave Raiden feeling all alone in the world, to being able to let Snake go here and accept the prospect of facing a life without him… 😭😭😭

Solid Snake still the best protag of the series...he needed to end this madness that all spawned from 1964..he didn't want Raiden to throw his life for it....Snake may have very well been the one incorruptible character in this series even Big Boss lost his way for a while...

Snake WAS incorruptible, that was kind of the whole point. Even after being lied to by his closest friend, losing his old best friend... twice, being used by the U.S. to cover up Shadow Moses (unsuccessfully), and otherwise just being a pawn for the Patriots, he still doesn't falter. Snake always fought for what he believed in, which is why Grey Fox's last words really resonate with him. If Grey Fox, who went through some real shit, including death, was still fighting for his beliefs in the face of death AGAIN, then Snake would keep fighting too. That and Otacon probably chastised Snake whenever he was a Debby Downer, because we all know Otacon is as naggy as a grandmother.
