Kamik Jennifer Boots Review (Sony RX100V Video Test)

Here I take a look at some "Jennifer" rain boots by Kamik, a very affordable alternative to Hunter Boots. I don't normally review things like this on this channel but it was more of an experiment in using some of the more interesting video capabilities of the Sony RX100V.

Thanks for sharing this video. I think you're a great videographer and movie director. Some fantastic shots there! It goes to show what relatively inexpensive compact camera's are capable of, given the correct handling and a creative mind. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great rain boots too, although my first preference is for Hunter boots. What is the total height of the Kamik boots? And what size are they? (for size / height reference). Jan Plak Thanks for the very kind comment. My wife’s first hunters were excellent and lasted 7 years, but since Hunter relocated manufacturing to China the quality decreased and her second pair of Hunters fell apart more quickly, as did her friend’s pair. So we decided we might as well buy a cheaper pair which appear to be just as good as the newer Chinese manufactured Hunters. Her Kamiks are women’s size 8 and 41cm tall.

@@Roos-Reviews Four years down the track now (2023) and I have finally found a (web)shop in Europe that sells a few colours of the Kamik Jennifer boots and at very reasonable prices. So I just ordered a pair in charcoal grey. They should arrive towards the middle / end of next week. I'm curious and excited to learn about the feel and comfort of these boots. Ordering in the past through a Canadian or American shop had proven way too expensive, with exorbitant shipping costs and import / customs duties to The Netherlands.

Hey! That's great to hear. Your message prompted me to ask my wife for an update on her feelings on these boots after all these years. She still wears them regularly and they are her go-to wet weather boot still. They have never leaked and have resisted the friction of regular wear very well. She still recommends them to friends and strangers. I would love to visit The Netherlands some day. Actually I hope to return to Europe permanently in the future.

They're 5 years old now, get worn a lot each harsh Canadian winter and still haven't leaked or cracked. The soles still have a lot of life left.
