Great review. I did the same thing with my X3. Dropping it. Not the first time. Another 110usd to fix huhu. For an 'action cam' it is fragile. Good they have made a removable lens protector for the X4. The sticky lens guard was a joke. Hard to line up which made the stitching bad. Not sure if I want to by the X4. It takes a lot to process the clips.

Nice video! I only have the 2 so I guess I have to put up with poor tracking. Its pretty easy to remove the tripod mount if you leave the tripod attached.

I want a VR headset, buti don't know which one to choose. I mostly play PC games but they are also playableon VR and i've seen some really cool VR games like bonelabs, which one should i save up for?

I have both phones and I totally agree with everything you said. I use a 1st gen iPhone SE jailbroken as my daily driver. I love my palm as a spare but I did use it as a daily for 6 months. I wish someone would make another high quality small phone with a 3.5 to 4in. display with metal and glass. I also have a Satrend S11. Nice build quality like the Palm but runs Android 7.

The battery life on the Palm had me abandoning it after only 3 months. The only way to get decent battery life is to use "Palm mode," disabling all radios. With all of the radios off, it's an all-day device. Of course, at that point, disconnected from everything, is it even a phone? I needed to be reachable, and keeping the Palm powered up and online meant such a load from charging and discharging the undersized battery that it was perpetually warm to the touch. I agree it's a beautiful object though.

I've had mine for a few weeks now and I do love it over all. But there's loads of changes I'd like to see. Yes a good 4K camera goes without saying but also 60fps. Add a microSD card slot. Roll the gimbal back to protect the lens. Don't gamify the app, give us all the features straight away. Give us an option to change the amount of time it hovers for when zoomed out; 10s, 15, 20s etc. Enable it to track us when doing an orbit or a birds eye. Give us a volume control for that voice! And yes it is too expensive. Bring that price down...

I got mine when it came out and backed it for less money. So I was lucky. And yes I agree, I hope for better video and the chance to set a "flat" profile which is not so over sharpened. GPS fine, but not a must for me and how I use it :) even the Insta Go 3s can do now 4k.. so come on :)

It's crazy how comfortable the quest 3 with the stock headband was for me. I got the kiwi battery one today, and dare I say, I prefer the fabric factory one??? I used it for HOURS and felt absolutely no discomfort.

I have the insta360 go 2 and I have been scammed pretty badly by insta360. The battery case battery isn’t sufficient to record and sustain a charge, on top of over heat warning from camera itself causes the battery to NOT CHARGE. The flashing red indicator keeps appearing. So I do factory reset to try to get rid of the indicator with little to no luck. If I don’t touch it for one week the indicator goes away and only then I can fully charge it. Been an on going issue and I have sent it to them 3 times. They have replaced the camera in the past, thinking they found the issue. It wasn’t fixed. Just so that you know I have less than 20 hours of recorded footage from the camera and this issue first appeared the first year I got the camera (when it was just released). I lost footage due to critical low battery (transferring footage through USB taking more battery from the charge eventually killing the battery through transfer of footage) this occurs when you are on the 20th minute of transferring. Cable replaced same issue still appearing. I cannot recommend any “Go” devices due to the critical flaw in design. No battery case = no charge for primary camera. No charge to primary camera = trash camera. You must have 2 batteries to work in order for the camera to work. Neither battery is replaceable, unless of course you want to pay 100 dollar+ to replace.

I bought the black Go 3 128 GB from BH Photo on sale 2 weeks ago. I noticed that the model was "discontinued" a week later. This was puzzling to me as I understood insta360 was on a two-year refresh cycle. I'll return this and get the latest and greatest when they announce it tomorrow.

You and me both, loving the GO 3 but yeah, can't wait for this one. The 4K in a small format like this is def a game changer, now let's see what else they've improved/added. Wouldn't it be something if they slapped a larger sensor, removeable battery on the dock and SD slot? We can only dream ;)

They bring in the 4k and they don't call it the Go 4?? Well there's a strange marketing decision. I thought my Go 2 was dead yesterday thus giving me the excuse to buy the Go 4, I mean Go 3s, but unfortunately I checked on the net and discovered that it needs a USB A to C cable, not C to C. And now it works again. Dang. Then again I still haven't bought the X4 ..

I'm so excited and use the go3 more often than the x3 in everyday life!! The only question I ask myself... Should I sell my current go3 with or without all the accumulated accessories 😅 3s: tomorrow I get you!! 🎉

Thank, great comparison video. I upgraded to the X4 for a trip to Europe, forgot to fit my lens guards and yep, dropped the camera while on a bus in London. End result, damaged the front lens. Funny thing is, I have had my X3 for almost 2 years, never used lens guards, never dropped it lol. Oh well, I had travel insurance that is covering the repair.

Controversial opinion to have and question to ask, but do you know if the rookie side loader will work with the Pico 4 when installing sofware/games that the Quest 3 can play? Reddit is not helpful at all when it comes to pirating on the Pico 4. Assuming most of its user base is foreign, and t english threads suck. I currently have the Quest 3 and use Rookie sideloader (super safe piracy sideloader app) fairly frequently, alongside Quest Games Optimizer and NordVPN apk sideloaded. I'll still buy games that I feel are actually genuinely worth it and not just tech demos so I can still support those developers and support that platform. But in saying this, I am considering getting the Pico 4S or Pico 5 when they come out, seeing as tey seem to be cheaper and better slightly than metas products. The leaked ram increase on Pico 4s and it using the exact same chipset now as Quest 3, and not being tied to Meta is way more attractive than Meta's platform imo, and all you points in favor of the Pico. Obviously because we have all the Facebook crap asssociated with it too and the potential for them to completely brick my entire headset when they do decide that their platform/ecosystem is big enough for them to finally crack down on pirated games and software thing they can see absolutely everything you have installed on your device. I'm assuming they just don't crack down on it (honestly its the easiest platform to pirate on and even easier than PC and safer) because they just want as many people as possible in this ecosystem, and data hording. your review has peaked my interest more than I thought it would.
