Firstly, congratulations on the KZbin pay check. Your story is so inspirational and real. Secondly, I love your line of thinking. We’re starting to see so many content creators go back to traditional jobs and burning out on social media because when your passion ends up being a job, it’s a whole new playing field. I used to want to one day be full time on social media but now I really just want to improve on this craft and build a community of like minded people.

Congratulations on hitting the 1 million views! So happy for you. I love your channel. I have been following you since I found you some time last year. Thank you for being so honest and sharing to help others out here. I am a small, small Utube channel trying to get started. I am also a senior citizen navigating the world of social media. I am trying to learn and at times it can be so overwhelming. I took a break from it due to i was getting a little too obsessed with all the algorithms, etc. I dont want to lose myself in all of this social media stuff. I am also a full time caregiver to my husband and he and I have been sick in and out the hospital since the new year started till April. Things are finally starting to get better with both our health. So i am going to try my hand again at posting videos and learning from other experienced users. You been one of them!/ Much continued success to you. ❤🙏

Kamillah, I came across one of your videos at about 5 am this morning. I had never saw you before. And you were talking about the advice you took about making 100 videos. I have taken this advice to heart. I also originally struggled with when I should post. I originally chose Sundays because it felt right to me. Then started listened to everyone else. Thank you. I am inspired on my journey to 100 videos and to get back to my Sundays. Thanks!!!

So happy for you Kam!! I started doing content around last decemeber and I can already say that i don't want this, as you said, to be my only income. It's risky to predict now how my channel is gonna do but still, the important part of creating is to do it as long as you're passionated and happy. When it only turns into a money machine, you become a slave of always squeeze every inch of your energy, time and creativity to always perform. I don't thrive in that kind of environment so i'm not gonna push myself to that limit. I also have a job that passionates me, so for me having two things - besides my other hobbies - that i know i can invest is enough to be fullfilled. You're doing to great, I'm proud cause i've been following you for months now and it's always a pleasure to hear your insights xx

It’s so smart to keep another income stream or two that’s totally seperate from KZbin. Social media is volatile. I’ve done it for 14 years and still work part time because the money fluctuates HUGELY and has nothing to do with views. It’s all about content topics and how much advertisers will pay - AND - even more so, your demographics. We make so much less per 1000 views in the UK than the US

Also keep in mind that shorts pay a lot less, usually 1 cent at the lowest and I used to make around 14 cents per 1000 views on shorts but now I generally get 19 or 22 cents per thousand. I got around $140 for a million on shorts. The fluctuations are real. I was getting 10s of thousands of views every day only for it to plummet to only around 200 views. Now I get a few thousand a day and I don’t think I’ll be getting paid next month…

I disagree with the no stability thing. There are tons of KZbinrs who’ve been doing this for 10+ yrs with only 200k subs. They do other content creation as well in other platforms, but I feel like there’s some stability in this depending on how you manage your finances and how consistent you are

Hello Kamillah, thanks for sharing. I noticed how you’ve tried to focus on a different type of niche other than the type that blew you up.
