Kh gaurdian is still the only one that counts drops. In 10 years with no service it will still count the correct amount of drops, compared to the others that may slip when dosing. It'll never dose the same volume everytime.

@@golbs7542 That's a good point but it's a question if the cloud will still exist in 10 years. The development of new technologies is so fast....

For 2-part dosing, will this equipment also dose the CA based on ALK use? Otherwise it would be a nightmare to keep things balanced.

Hey there, I will be setting up a 600 litre reef tank (160 gallons US). So, I plan to use 2 boxes (160 pieces total) of Maxpect bio balls. Do you think that will be enough for a 160 gallon tank? Also instead of adding bacteria, I plan to put these bags of bio media into my cousin’s tank’s sump and keep it there for a month or two before I set up my tank. His tank is a few years old. So um that way I can get a variety of bacteria from his tank and also microorganisms like copepods and amphipods. What are the Chances I can get pests as well? Like bristle works, aptasia, etc. do you think they will be a problem in a sterile tank? His tank had ich or velvet about 1.5 year ago but it has been treated and all the fish are ok now. So do you think that might be a problem as well? Also how can I get all these bacteria to colonise my bio media and also the copepods to stay in it without getting any of the pests into my tank? Is that possible? Please let me know! Also is this a good idea? What do you think? Thank you in advance!

Question on dosing. I might want it to do some minor dosing, but nothing major. It could be a faulty test or perhaps I made a change and didn't calibrate it. Next thing I know it's trying to dose enough to make up for a bad test and killing my tank. Is it possible to limit how much it can dose based on a result? Say only enough to change .5 dKH?

Yes, it can do that

Am I misunderstanding this product....does it only test KH? What a fail if this is what it is.....no one is gonna buy a thousand dollar tester for one element when everyone else does many more ...weird product imo...I was initially excited when I saw this....I thought it was a bigger spin touch type device

@@Sammy31Dee trident isn’t even in the same league in quality or accuracy to Mastertronic…can’t compare a unit that tests over 10 water parameters to just 3 from Trident…Trident is just a toy in comparison lol
@Orybailey2 жыл бұрын
Only one function and it $999 what a rip off. It just comes to show the capitalism of marine companies. You can buy the trident for $639 and test calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium. For 1,300 you can get the Mastertronic Automated Water Tester which is still higher and you get Nitrates, Phosphates, Magnesium, Calcium, Alkalinity, and organic matter. This is so frustrating to me. Why do people promote this behavior and then companies like this say oh well you have to replace parts so frequently. I understand wear and tear but they make stuff from cheap parts that break so easily and require Replacemnt so often compared to how much we pay for them. For instance apex feels like a cheap quality plastic toy that I payed $599 for. Is this going to be another thing that gives out fast. He seemed a bit dodgy about some of those questions asked.
