One unexpected lesson from watching him work his bee's was in his equipment. I don't know if it just the brand of boxes he has or if it was something he adds. But I liked the external handle on the boxes, making it easy to tip a box for a quick peek without having to mess with the alignment.

I've been thinking about adding those to my own equipment and having seen someone else do it for the reason I was going to do it just encourages me all the more

@@pepperellbees that came right into my mind also, you don't have to have all the trouble cutting into the box to make tiny handles for the tip of your fingers and his model is a time and bag saver...very good. All the best from Brasil.

Wow that’s a lot of queens. Nice area for queen rearing. Enjoyed the tips on the video. Really like how the strong hives are not bothered by the hive beetles. Keep them strong. Thanks! Take care.

Great video Kamon!!! In 2022 Greg talked about his trip with Bob where he ran the camera when Bob went through Florida to different beekeepers. The whole ride over he was so excited to tell me about the people he met and the things he saw. After going to Chris’s operation Greg kept telling me about these 21+ day queens and how important it was to give the new queens that time. Constantly trying to gain more knowledge on the simple little honey bees!! Thank you for sharing and please keep up the great work!!! We are all learning from what you are sharing!!!

the georgia research is looking at the turf for hive beetle but may test to see if it affects larva because he had numbers that suggest an outcome that could be wrong.

This past week I have been experimenting with a liquid pollen patty applied to the top bars using a 250ml feeder syringe. I use Brood builder powder from Dadant . I mix in a heavy 2:1-3:1 sugar syrup into the powder making thick honey like consistency. I apply the mix directly to the top bars (4-6) top bars . The bees take to it immediately and is consumed rapidly . Gone in two days. This doesn’t allow SHB enough time to lay eggs in it . The population of those hives I am feeding it to is exploding. I think I have developed a new technique of feeding the protein to the hives .

@@kamonreynolds it was a good day. I have been nervous about using Formic Pro. And frankly am still a little nervous, but I think it might be the answer to the mite issues with the pollination bees when they return. Everything else is either ineffective with brood in the colonies or takes too long.

From what I can tell. That bee yard is in a cow pasture. He doesn't have the bees fenced off from the cows. I would be worried that the cows would push over the hives.

The comment at the end about the OA eating the galved bottom screens is to be well headed. We had a few florida 6 ways with some and noticed the same. Sounds like some good stainless screen will be in all our futures if OA stays on the mite hacking menu. Taint cheap but the longevity is way beyond that hardware cloth junk.
