Lucifer is an fallen angel from the heaven, because he had his own meaning about humans and Jesus and Adonai (God) banned him for that to the Hell. Then Lucifer does an jailbreak and becomes the King of the hell, then the people starts to call him Satan. Other synonymes are Beelzebub or the devil. :D In my opinion, Satan aka Lucifer is not evil, he was having his own opinion, thats all. ^^
