Kenichi Otaku "Senbon Sakura" isn't English. Senbon is "1000" in Japanese like you just said. What I meant was, when you translate '千本桜', it directly becomes "Senbonzakura." it might be because of the fact the Japanese used seems more traditional Japanese than what they use nowadays. However, if it was put into Japanese dialect it would still be 'SenbonSakura' 'Thousand Cherry Blossoms' not 'Thousand Cherry Trees'
