The totally strange part is that these two peoples are both identical, they are the same people, genetically the same, emotionally the same, physically the same. They come from the same bloodline. But politically, religiously they have gone separate ways. In some ways this behaviour is an expression of insanity. It's like two brothers that have chosen to divide the family home down the middle and each postures across the divide as to who is stronger or more important. To everyone else watching it is ridiculous...but to the two brothers, who are locked in egotistical expression, there is nothing more important. Hey one other historical comment. Someone who knows the history might reply. I suspect this whole thing began with the lowering of colors (flags). Since lowering colors is a very old sign of surrender, the colors are lowered very carefully simultaneously.

It's a old military tradition, it's called " beating the retreat " a rather incorrect way to describe the stoppage of hostility ( importantly) for the day, since the Sun is setting and there will be darkness soon, so basically you stop the fighting for now and resume at dawn the next day. Since the military establishments of both countries share the same ( British) origin, these stupid traditions are being kept alive. And it suits ( and benefits) the Pakistanis because it perpetuates their fantasy of the India vs Pakistan rivalry. The Indian government & media is stupid, they remain focused on a monkey, while the real threat has raced far ahead and is increasing incrementally day by day.

Bruce Lee was also the best in the world about telling everyone he was the best in the world... without a single "real" fight to prove it. But it's ok, anthropologically (even among simian) the cerimonial show off is meant to dissuade the need for "real" confrontations. However when they "really" happen... the "real" confrontation outcome can very frequently be the total opposite of the grand "cerimonial" showoff... Anyway, these simplistic show offs are also designed to be watched by the simple minds that enjoy to be impressed allegorically (like with movies and video games). These rituals have place all over the world in different shades and purposes. And they are absolutely part of the ritual to shake off natural insecurity that most of the diverse humanoid groups suffer endemically... But none of the things that you've mentioned here changes the fact that the armed forces that are featured in the video are indeed two of the best armed forces in the world and whatever I am saying is also a well-provable fact using the scientific method. If I was asked what parameters I would consider in order to evaluate an armed force, I'd say number of battle experiences, ability to fight in difficult environments and the type of weapons accessible to them. If you scientifically conduct a series of studies to evaluate those variables, these two armed forces will definitely stand out compared to the rest of the world along with few others. Also, the armed forces that you are looking at in that video have been face to face with each other, in a full-fledged war, quite a several times in the history. So, it's not like that this ceremonial "show off" have prevented them any "real" confrontation, is it ?
