With regular garm masala the results are good but with addition of few extra ingredients you get more authentic biryani flavour. Nutmeg, mace, star anise etc have very strong flavour which regular garm masala lacks.

Excellent !!! I'm going to try this tomorrow but...ek seeti means how many minutes ? This ek seeti do seeti system is only for Indian pressure cookers, the rest have just one long and constant seeti so I need to know how many minutes before the 2 minutes on low flame. Or how long in an electric pressure cooker where there is no seeti! 😂 Thank you for sharing this recipe 🙏

Made it today as lunch ,it was so yummy. I have added my own made biriyani masala, keora water and rose water too.

I agree. Without adding keora and rose water authentic taste of biryani doesnt come. The only difference between biryani masala and garm masala is addition of star anise, mace, nutmeg and long pepper. Sometimes they add rose petals too. I too prefer to make my own spices because it gives full control over the outcome.
