The fact she not only hold that note but go for higher notes in the same breath is quite cool.

You have to, it's the only way to make a note last longer. 1) You constrict your vocal tract with a falsetto voice, meaning less air escapes = your breath lasts longer. 2) Switching to falsetto also tenses your abdomen, which can help you push more air out of your lungs which may not have come out yet. Heck, the note could've lasted longer if she started with falsetto, but it wouldn't have sounded good. So she hit the note as normal, then went up in pitch to her falsetto voice to restrict how much air she was using and push out the last remaining breath.

As if that’s not insane enough alraeady, Kanata mentioned that after that long note in Unravel, there’s a inter and she had to ask staff to mute her temporary so that she can take a huge breathe to recover. But in her Mephisto today, not only she held it for EVEN LONGER AND has a SECOND key change, SHE SINGS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE 25 SECONDS LONG NOTE!! @@taimaaa She has a serious condition causing continuous hearing loss and she is already functionally deaf in one ear due to it. Her other ear has also been deteriorating over the years, but with treatments and monitoring by doctors she has been able to keep her hearing functional and able to continue singing, but it is a constant battle for her to keep singing and to practice for her performances, because of her condition.

@@benhicks9481 As far as I know, she doesn't have hearing aids yet, but the only thing that can be done for people with her condition is a cochlear implant once the hearing has been completely lost. However, she hasn't done that yet. She does have other things to aid her, like a special sleeping alarm that doesn't rely on sound because otherwise she doesn't wake up. Other than that, I don't know much (Only what I've said in the first comment, which is from clips where Kanata spoke about her condition).
