Interesting. I would like to see how it held up, since why use the kanban when the inventory is kept in the same room. Also restocking should be done by a kanban person who is not part of the nursing staff. Counting out a certain number then putting a certain number in a special package is not going to happen in a rush moment.

I'm glad the price is there to see. So I'll know what to pocket :) Seriously though, the good thing about the kanban system is the associated measurements you can utilize. You should check the change of velocity of the system, individually and comparatively to other items.

It is helpful. Thanks of explanantion. Why don't you use 2 boxes for each item and replace it all the time in one FIFO direction? it would make easier your life, and you would eliminate process of packing components to the foil. the second box would be safety stock. In general you kansan is ok, but think about improvement. And explanation is very clear. Thanks for it.

Nicely simplified. Wouldn't you move the entire bagged contents to the open container and replenish the Kanban bag quantity so you are always rotating stock??

So I see this is based on the economic order quantity and timing. The equation driving this action is fairly dynamic in that allows for shipping times, average use rates and should account for the inventory cost. The only thing is that I never got a straight answer on how to calculate the costs of inventory. What about the subjective estimation for opportunity cost as a portion of the inventory cost?
