That ender was beyond amazing! Hit board's buoyancy was the only thing keeping it from getting drilled under the surface by the lip.

Reminds me of big Maile Point, West Side Oahu. Holds it big, after the takeoff it`s an easy wave. Lots of options for long drawn out moves.

That is Craig Anderson. Dude is a freaking style master. There are a few videos of this particular wave and one of them shows that he grabs the wave just as it is breaking on him. Truly amazing.

have you surfed it Tom? E bay and greenbush, Nias, desert point. One palm point, let you out unlike this monster, lol. Hollow trees is very rarely perfect, being a swell magnet it varys heaps, from shitty to perfect on rare occasions. Not to mention the few really good waves still rarely surfed. I have a place in the phillipines[and many others elsewhere] with two awesome right barrels in the same inlet. deep between an island and the mainland. Fly to manila, get a plane to Siruma resort, drive not far north to the ferry that takes you to Butauanan island. get a local fisherman to boat you around the island into the inlet between the island and the mainland. There are two very good barrels one a bit deeper in the inlet than the other. Check it on google earth maps. Its not super easy to get to, its rarely ever surfed. I was there in the early 90s, since then Alex Gray went there and did a vid.. Its called "insta barrels" Hes surfing the shorter of them, but its very nice, the other is deeper in the inlet and is a much longer when its working. Northern winter is the go. Its cheap there, you will be alone unless you go with someone. Ive adventure surfed in many places since the early 80s. Nias was virtually unknown then, my favorite wave:) Fucked now but:/ I hate crowds so I go a lot farther afield than most, its worth it:). Palau"s east coast during northern winter has reef pass after pass lefts, many world class waves. Its getting a bit better known now, but still uncrowded.

Theres a very good reason why they don't show the end section of this wave., far too often it locks you in closes out over a very shallow reef. At this size, not fun at all,lol Still a hell barrel, but fuk you pay, hahahah
