Cool video ❤. But guide should’ve taken you to the city itself and ‘temple of tooth’, instead of botanical garden😒. Both same price. If you google top places to visit in Kandy usually Tempe of Tooth is number one. Which is also the palace Complex of last king of Sri Lanka.

I think the grizzled giant squirrel was delisted as the National Animal a few years back because it tops the list of animals that threaten Coconut and Cocoa cultivations in SL.

Grizzled giant squirrel is native to south India and Sri Lanka, and now they are near threatened due to habitat loss

Indiana Jones was filmed over the Victoria dam, the bridge was constructed by the engineers who were building the Victoria dam. It was constructed only for the movie. And soon after they dismantled the entire bridge. Skanska was the UK Company behind the construction of the Victoria Dam. It was declared open by Late Queen Elizabeth in the mid eighties.

Tuktuks were very cheap! Not sure on exact costs but like £1 for 20 min journey if you use grab! And we were in Sri Lanka in March and it didn’t rain much but it is rainy season now
