Prior to the opening of the Moffat tunnel, I'm guessing trains only had the option of going up to Cheyenne in order to get across the divide? Or was there also a rail line down the Albequer-Alberqeu, Alba...that place where Bugs Bunny should have taken a left turn...
@michael_mooshy Жыл бұрын
Tennessee Pass predates the Moffat Tunnel as a standard gauge line, and Marshall Pass predates Tennessee Pass as a narrow gauge line. Both were on the Denver & Rio Grande. And there were also lines north of the Union Pacific at Cheyenne, of course.

wow i didnt know kan played brass instruments. ive been following the channel for years, you would think id know. ive played trombone for about 6 years now and i recently asked my band teacher if i could borrow a trumpet to practice on and i learned the Bb (technically c for trumpet) scale in about 60-90 min. the next day or two my trumpet player friend was having a hard time playing a song we started learning and i played it for him on my trombone and he was still getting it wrong so i pulled out the trumpet and asked him what the fingerings were, i can read treble clef from piano i just dont know the fingerings for each note, and he told me, then i played it on trumpet better than he could. if you want to call bs on that go for it but, we joke that he is musically dyslexic so you can take that as you will

Having bells in addition to other warning devices is not just an archaic thing that steam trains used to do. I take a commuter train to work, and it has a horn and a bell. It actually has two different bells: The one at the back of the last passenger car makes a high, electronic, beep-like tone as it pulls into the station in reverse. The one on the engine makes a more traditional bell-toll sound as it pulls into the station going forward. I'm pretty sure both sounds are electronically synthesized, even the one that sounds like a real bell, which leads me to believe that the bell sound has been valued even as trains have evolved. This still doesn't really answer the question of why there is a bell and a horn/whistle, but it shows that there is a good reason.

The Heisler wobbles even worse… I’ve had mine flip over off the rails when just going 5 mph around a 90 meter curve while pulling empty hoppers recently, even. Only my Eureka comes as close to it at the moment, and it’s as bad as your Class 70 currently. It’s like the weight is flipped from bottom to top in game, but admittedly the #3 on that line in modern Oregon on the coast does wobble a bit in videos I’ve seen of it, such as “Steam Galore 10” when it appears (and I have ridden behind it myself personally), but it’s nowhere as bad as in game.

hey think about copper lined iron rails, and each car having alternating levitation magnets, then you dont have to magnetize the whole rail (upwards) but the linear magnet lines on the rail car will induce the opposite magnet field on the copper lined track, problem solved

@TheDemocrab Жыл бұрын
Just FYI on CPU bottlenecks kAN: You can be CPU bottlenecked while your CPU usage is way under 100% still because that percentage includes all of your CPUs cores and a game that has a bunch of single-threaded code might only be able to load up a few of them at a time. RRO isn't very well threaded either, for example all the physics calculations for trains and the like takes place on a single thread on the hosts PC which is why MP can quickly get laggy when a lot of stuff is moving around at once. ...With that said I have a feeling the performance dip you saw was just UEs poor optimisation mixing with Keume's keumecode more than anything.

The class70 has issues in the game. Nothing major but still an issue. One question, Where in real life do the train companies load the cars? Don't they just provide the cars to be loaded and move them when ready? It would be cool to just park cars at a dock or yard and leave them and come back latter and move fully loaded cars? But that may be asking to much. There needs to be a grind to earn properly. Like real life. It is a simulation, right?
@bryanvincer7081 Жыл бұрын
BNSF flood loads coal unit trains in the western U.S. CSX & NS flood load coal trains in the eastern U.S. Other than that, I think the actual industry is responsible for loading and unloading the cars
@randywise5241 Жыл бұрын
@@bryanvincer7081 I though something like that. The train needs to be running in the coal shoots. Both loading and unloading . The Iron industry deploys their one trains to move things around. They load the products going out on other lines. They have cool operations in the steal plants. Outside trains deliver and they do the rest. Just drop off the cars and the steal mills trains move and unload them.
@randywise5241 Жыл бұрын
I have problems with the turn tables in the main. But the train stops. Don't the real turn tables have a lock that keep it on the line you are using? They need that. I set the turn table and by the time I start on it it can change positions and mess up. The beta seems to have more issues with them.
