Speed wise it is supersonic for sure, but the game doesn't give a supersonic blast in space, right? I am almost sure they coded that right but I haven't really watched any space biome videos so I don't know

If you're within 1km, you could use distance sensors on max distance, in an arc, to tell if you're facing eath other.

I don't know how much a big arc of sensors would bring, though a bunch of sensors with up to 1 degree that automate those smaller adjustments should be workable. Would bring the necessary precision down to just being within ~17m at 1km of a straight line

I'm glad kAN built something chonky for this. It would have taken dozens of attempts to make a single contact if they both used rocket sticks. Also, the interactions between the two creations were interesting and unexpected.

First thought for planes is watching an altitude sensor on the back of the vehicle and relay heights to each other

or make a vtol feature to stay at a certain height... but that would be pretty much making a plane fly in a 2D surface so is it really a plane?

How to do planes: fix altitude with an altitude sensor, make it as stable as possible at said altitude, instead of planes, build a rocket... (not that you've been making anything other than rockets xD)

You can use altitude sensors to stay at the same height, and compass sensors to create a virtual grid.

When you kept going left to try and match up you changed it from one line you were both following to two lines that only crossed once. That made timing matter more

Fly the planes on the grid map low to the ground so you can see the lines to keep straight on with each other's plane and for the height variations use pistons at the same height on both plans and then use sensors to keep the plane at that height

For two smart people, they should have figures out to go separate ways, then put a beacon on the other person and aimed towards that. No matter where they were, they would at least be aiming directly at each other when they aim for their own beacons. Am I right?

Well they did it right away and seeing as they can't see each other's beacons is the issue. Should have had one person be the marker location. Then both place a beacon there and aim for it.
