Tommy is a beast! SA's FOH is so well mixed....you don't really sense how hard he's hitting. One of metal's most consistent, persistent and inventive drummers, IMHO (40+ years playing experience).

Excellent drummer you can always tell Tommy loves what he does by the smile such passion. Hard hitter too, I have always enjoyed his drumming very imaginative and is the Sonata sound for sure

i notice that too... but i always question myself why... because he is a strong drummer and not old at all. Why do you think that he doesnt play the fast parts complete anymore?

Probably lack of practice. Sonata has stopped composing power metal songs in the past years, so Tommy has been playing less challenging drum patterns.

@@RigoStar It is lack of practice indeed. Dobule bass drum scank beats requires a lot of endurance practice specially at fast tempos. If you don't do endurance excercises then you lack stamina for long double bass beats.
