It's from the movie Gunaa dad... Most scenes of the movie was shot in Kodaikkanal. This song was shot in one of the most dangerous caves "The Devil's Kitchen" which later on became a famous tourist attractions in Kodaikkanal by the name Gunaa Caves. BTW, the actress' name is Roshini. She acted in this movie only and later on didn't act in other movies

Good choice. This movie was released when I was born. I watched it recently and awestruck thinking can one write a movie like this and how can one act like Kamal haasan. About this song, Kamal is an atheist and Illaiyaraja is a strong believer, but you need a divine blessing to become so much artistic to reach this level and people appreciate, cry for this song even after 3 decades. Not forgetting to mention the lyrics of the great poet Vaali here. The combination of Kamal, Illayaraja and Vaali will be the pinnacle of the art form.

the beauty of this song is the male says it as a dialogue the the female useses the dialogue as the lyrics and sing it as a song. btw she is a hostage the guy is mentally ill and thinks she is his lover and kidnaps her and end up falling in love but she was killed is the end by her men so they can have her money i think and so he jumps off a clif along with here and commits suicide its an ever green classic

this movie s not only about mentally ill and a women also they are are compared as SHIVA(indian god) and PARVATHI(goddess). So why Guna(kamal hassan) calls her as Abirami(Roshni).And in the movie kamal intro he stands like shiva, after he see her for the first time some visuals are shown as they dressed up like shiva and parvathi and they joined together. there are still so many details in the film this are the things i noticed, so, please watch the film worth watching.

There is a connection between this song and manjumel boys. Because a guy will fall inside the cave. That malayalam movie was based on a true story which happened in 2006. Kamal's song was shot around 1990's. That cave was discovered by a British Forest Officer BS Ward at 1821. He coined the name "Devil's Kitchen" as they heard strange utensil noises beneath the surface. That cave is located in Kodaikanal-Princess of Hills, Tamil Nadu. Nearly around 50 people have died in that cave since the British arrived.
