It's a Jelly Roll Morton song. His name popped into my mind as the vid began. I looked it up to make sure. There are several runs up/down the keyboard reminiscent of Morton style. JRM was a belligerent fellow . He got stabbed which didnt do his health much good.

Jelly Roll Morton re formed his Red Hot Peppers in New York in 1928 with a different personnel from that which cut the classic recordings in Chicago in 1926/7. He retained the great Omer Simeon on clarinet though. In New York the 'Peppers recorded a great version of this number-it is often coupled with another good one-Georgia Swing.

@@rogerkent7577 Thank you for the information. I like the song a lot ,but had never heard it before. My Uncle Paul Sabrowski had his own “ Muddy River Jazz Band “ back in the 70’s - 80’s here in Portland ,🥀 Oregon and they only made one album but were very popular here in Portland. Don’t remember him ever playing “ Kansas City Stomp “? He played the Banjo and sang. He played a song called ‘ Ain’t Gonna Give Nobody None of My Jelly Roll. “ . They were very good. Always went to the Jazz Festival in Sacramento,Ca. Thanks again for your interest in my comment. Have a great Day and “Merry Christmas “. Regards, Chris ! ♥️🎶🥀🎶♥️🥰😎Here’s Bobby Darin and Johnny Mercer singing Ain’t Gonna Give You Any of My Jelly Roll. “. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJ-tmJWCnbaBiZYsi=HNeVEknJW6gwXA3z This whole album is a great one .

The perfect music for a film without words. We can imagine the antics of Charlie Chaplin. This music tells a story... Thank you: clicked on "Like" before even starting the video 🙂

Dear Stephanie and Paolo, Your brilliant version of Kansas City Stomp was so full, that it sounded like you’d arranged a score for several instruments! So very enjoyable, as always! Thank you.,

I close my eyes and what I hear is the roll player piano that my grandfather had…only like it was playing more than one roll at a time.

Jelly Roll Morton would enjoy, too (and possibly envy you, but then most probably find an excuse) - but for certain, I enjoy and envy (without an excuse).
