I had the privilege to see Kansas live yesterday. It was amazing. The musicality was unbelievable, and the band does not get as much credit as the deserve. I also had the opportunity to go backstage with them. i talked to guitarist Rich Williams and violinist David Ragsdale. They were the nicest guys! Anyways, without these guys, I wouldn't have picked up a guitar at all.

Amazing story, and RIP David Ragsdale. I met one of my first guitar heros, Brian Setzer, following a concert with his Orchestra in Columbia Missouri. I mostly play the bass now but once in while, the guitar.

Ps: This my favorite music video of all time. Reminds me of my High School sweetheart who helped me get over perhaps the worst period of my entire life as well as her Church youth group including the adults (Melvin and Gay Gray) being baptized in Corpus Christ. Excluding my wife and children. 1977 was the best year of that era. I am so grateful to have been born when I was born. Yes we had hell on earth, but I fear the worst is now and perhaps to come. Most of the advancements today have been of no gain. Yeah I use them to....

My best friend passed away 16? years ago this song was played at his funeral. The pastor who officiated, gave a great message incorporating the words of the song. The man who wrote it was led to be a Christian after it became popular.

I am only 35 years old but this song as well as many others by many other artists have been a major part of my life for as long as i can remember. I listened to them growing up and i still listen to them. My children listen to them as well. There is a lot to be said and heard in the lyrics of these musicians from the 60-70's. Music these days lacks true content. there is no depth or true meaning. I have noticed lately that a new-old trend in music is coming back.

Thanks for sharing! The film reminds me of living in Kansas as a kid in the 1970s. At the time my dad was a junior high school art teacher and his students filmed art films like this with a 8mm camera.
