Other Bowl Trivia... - The 85 points scored in this game is the most for both teams combined in a K-State Bowl game. The previous record was 75 in K-State's 54-21 Holiday Bowl win over Colorado State in 1995. - The 3 point margin of victory was the closest by K-State in any Bowl win. The previous record was a 4-point win (24-20) over Washington in the 1999 Holiday Bowl. - The 41 points were the most scored by a Wildcat Bowl opponent in a game K-State won, far surpassing the prior record of 28 scored by Texas A&M in K-State's 33-28 Texas Bowl win in the 2016 season. It was also the third-largest point total K-State has ever given up in a Bowl game to date, surpassed by Arkansas in the 2015 Liberty Bowl and Alabama in the Sugar Bowl after the 2022 season, each of whom put up 45 points on the Cats in those games. - The 17-point deficit the Cats overcame to win the game is the greatest comeback victory in Wildcat Bowl game history. - K-State is 5-2 in its past 7 Bowl games, the best record the Cats have accomplished to date in a 7 Bowl game stretch. Prior to that, K-State had lost 7 of its previous 8 Bowl games. - This year's Rate Bowl is the fifth time K-State has played in this particular Bowl game, and the name of the Bowl has been different each time. It was the Copper Bowl in 1993 (the only time K-State played in the game before it was moved from Tucson to Phoenix), the Insight . com Bowl in 2001 (the only loss by K-State of the 5), the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in 2013 (K-State's only Bowl win in an 8 Bowl game stretch running from 2003 to 2015), the Cactus Bowl in 2017, and the Rate Bowl in 2024. - K-State's all time Bowl record in the state of Arizona improved to 5-3, 4-1 in the Copper/Insight/BWW/Cactus/Rate Bowl and 1-2 in the Fiesta Bowl. - K-State's all-time Bowl record improved to 12-14. - Chris Klieman is the only K-State head coach to currently have a winning Bowl record, at 3-2. Snyder went 9-10, while Jim Dickey and Ron Prince were both 0-1.

You're a little bit off on that trivia at the end, Mason. Avery Johnson is actually the SECOND K-State QB to start with a 2-0 record in Bowl games. To be fair, the first one was a generation ago. Jonathan Beasley led the Cats to a 24-20 victory over Washington in the Holiday Bowl at the end of the 1999 season and a 35-21 Cotton Bowl victory over Tennessee after the 2000 season. The 44 points scored in this year's Rate Bowl are the third most by a K-State team in a Bowl game. First place was the 1995 Holiday Bowl, a 54-21 win over Colorado State. Second was the Copper Bowl Drew mentioned with the 52-17 win over Wyoming.

As a history buff, St. Patrick was actually from somewhere in western Great Britain, probably in what is now Wales (though there are several places in both Wales and the West of England which claim to be his hometown), which was part of the Roman part of Britain until the Roman Empire abandoned the island around the time he was born. The reason he was in Ireland was that he was captured by slavers and taken there to be sold. St. Patrick escaped from slavery, but eventually went back to convert the Irish to Christianity.

And our wr need to get open cephas did great on that 4th down play where he dropped off the route and got open to save the drive

Go Cats! As one who normally opposes alternate uniforms, the ones worn in this game were actually not that bad. For me, the BIG no-go for alternate uniforms is taking the Powercat off the helmet. We didn't do that with these unis, unlike the ones in the 2022 Tulane game (which I thought looked horrible). As a Cat fan stuck in Cornhucksterland, my first impression was "Oookay, these look like the K-State equivalent of Nebraska's home uniforms. Single-stripe white helmet with a stripe and logo in the primary team color? Check! White pants with a double stripe of the primary team color? Check!"
