Thanks. I'm debating between these two right now as well and you pretty much confirmed what I thought.

Have been using gloss white YU6 and Sub8 for a couple of weeks now. Using it mainly for TV / movie watching. Very happy with it. Sounds much "fuller" than the Samsung soundbar I used to have. It's connected directly to my TV via optical cable. Another plus is that the YU6 remote is in Logitech's Harmony database so I still have just one remote for everything.

Hmmm... Small home theater setup. Should I go with these YU6 bookshelf speakers or a Samsung soundbar at the same price? I would be getting Kanto's matching sub. to go with the YU6 if I went with the YU6. The Samsung soundbar also includes its own, separate sub..
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 6 жыл бұрын
I think they should sound quite similar with these offering a bit nicer sound since the box is larger than the sound=bar for air flow but aesthetically, the sound bar would look much nicer especially wall mounted.

If the Samsung is a true Atmos system with up-firing speakers, then go Samsung. But its its 2.1 or 3.1 (ignoring the fake Atmos marketing), get the Kanto system, hook up to the headphone jack of the TV with the best oxygen free shielded cable you can afford, and then you'll be able to use the built-in virtual surround sound DSP features of the TV while having much better speakers. Just my opinion. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Why pay for features you already have on you TV or on your mobile phone?

I am PC guy and listening music all day long. So I am thinking to get them without sub. Will the bass still sound good even without vibrating floor? I am also wondered, some KRK active monitors are almost similar prices and can be pretty boom boom loudly. Will I get in YU6 same?
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 2 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues with vibration but I"m also using these angled monitor angled stands that AudioEngine sells on Amazon for pretty cheap. They're probably keeping the vibrations to a minimum.

In my experience, no. You'll have to turn on the speakers.
@MortenJensenOfficial
@MortenJensenOfficial 6 жыл бұрын
can you tru again, because i have got an email from Kanto company: Morten, There is a delay with the APU, its about 2 seconds once its detects audio, the needle touching the record will likely be the sound that triggers the speakers to turn back on. There is no APU with bluetooth since the speakers disconnect from the bluetooth source once they go into standby, and there isn't a way to keep them connected. Customer Support

These speakers (I owned the YU4's) have one issue that made me return them... it's that horrible buzzing noise. They sound amazing, but the noise is unacceptable. One more thing... the Audioengine A5+ wireless was just announced at CES 2018 for $499.

Carew Martin Which is still kind of moot because he says you could adjust it and make it sound exactly the same. So maybe the kanto comes with a more flat sound which I think is great. And perhaps the audio engine already comes more colored out of the box but with Less adj on the back end.
