that image of him burning in the house will be forever imprinted in my memory - and this is the sort of cultural shifting impact we talk about when you examine his body of work. the choir sounded so beautiful and then that running piano, that elegant sonic touch leading the song and visual to a close. such an important moment in visual history. also, the brilliance and ingenuity to use the listening parties as sort of performance art pieces and then stitch them together to create this video - just masterful.

I love reading comments like this because it puts my thoughts into a concise, beautifully written piece. Kanye is unlike any other artist alive right now & this listening show run proved it to the world. The fact that Ye is able to drop an album like this 20+ years into his career at 44 years old with it being his 10th album. Just amazing. Like most great artists, I don't think Kanye Omari West will be fully appreciated until well into the future. But that also means his music will live on for lifetimes like it should.

It has Jay Electronica, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch with an touching outro by Larry Hoover Jr., whose father has been in prison for over 26 years now and was running the Gangster Disciples, one of the biggest chicago gangs. Kanye got Rooga from the gang, and Lil Durk, from a rival gang on the same album which was very interesting to see. Part 2 basically has the other features whereas part 1 was just Kanye and Jay Electronica.

Kanye West is a very very talented creator . He also obviously has his demons , which I am sure ( as I do too) that can only make him a better artist as he has felt the pain that most people never do , has come back from places most people don’t . And I can see so clearly how he has gotten away with so many , so many “ tormented artist“ moments that women geniuses like Amy Winehouse ( for example ) never were given the permission by us or anyone to have .We have to start giving the same empathy to female “ tormented creators “ so they are allowed to create without being crucified and destroyed by the same ones that watch them in awe before the very public meltdowns they inevitably have , and Kanye has inevitable had , but he has permission, I guess. How many female artists must we sacrifice till our thirst is quenched?
