I think an absolute gem in this song that a lot of people are missing is “Screamin at my dad and he told me it ain’t Christ-like BUT NOBODY NEVER TELL YOU WHEN YOU’RE BEING LIKE CHRIST” Having grown up in the church I know where he’s coming from, everyone always wants to pin your religion and tell you almost sarcastically oh you aren’t being very Christ like but rarely anyone will point out your shining moments when you’re really doin it right. Like sticking your hand in a jar full of infinite marbles and you happen to pull the one red marble. Mathematically, that's insane odds. It makes me think there is a creator. My prayer is that this helps anyone who may be struggling. I was on heroin for years. I was homeless, jobless, and penniless. My family gave up on me because I hurt them so much. I lost custody of my daughter. I remember being back in the woods where I lived, thinking I was going to die in my addiction. I was in bondage! I was dependent on drugs at all levels and it felt impossible to get out. I had overdosed 13 separate times. I was an atheist so it was hard for me to believe in something greater. On October 18, 2013 I finally surrendered. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was totally broken and lost in my sin. But in His love for me Jesus saved me! Now I am in college, I'm a drug counselor, and a preacher. God is restoring the relationships in my family everyday! There is hope! God can move ANYONE to change. The biggest miracles aren't when He moves mountains but when He moves hearts. Glory to The Almighty! Over 6 years clean from drugs and alcohol!

He's saying he was getting beat up in the old life. Following society and low vibrational frequencies. Life was kicking his butt. He called for help from a referee like Mike Tyson, which rarely happens. Kanye rarely needs help at survival and Tyson rarely needs a referee. And following our path requires us to keep checking ourselves, the dad reference. I think this all started happening when he had that concert breakdown. Our journey is our own. Authentic to us. My favorite song off Jesus Is King, I really wish he made it longer than 1 minute though. Most of the album was kind of what you expected, more singing and gospel-y stuff but I'm glad he rapped on it too. And as always, I'm gonna end my comment suggesting you guys check out Cult Of Luna. I've been listening to their song Nightwalkers a lot and I really think you'd dig that one, extremely groovy and it has some wild transitions that I can see you guys freaking out over.

Well, to be fair he did tell everyone it was going to be a gospel album. So, it's kinda silly to hate on a gospel album for singing gospel music lol. I'm just glad he is trying to clean up hip-hop. Music is just getting so awful nowadays. You have Mumble Rap, Barbie Doll music, and Pop Country that all promote a "Do What tho Wilt" mindset that is destroying the youth and our culture. This is one of my favorite songs off the album. As a recent convert to Christianity myself I can relate to what Kanye is saying in this album. We have a renewed hunger for God but man it's hard to stay on course. Great reaction!
