It’s like Andre doesn’t rap, he talks to you heart to heart, and it just happens to rhyme. I can count on one hand the amount of lyricists that made me shed actual tears through their bars, but 3 stacks is definitely one

Not gonna lie, Andre's verse from the start had me tearing up thinking about my mom and what it's like after death. She passed away recently and part of me wants to believe there's more but I know there's nothing when we're gone. We only leave our loved ones with memories. The way he talks about his father reminds me of mine as well. Passed away, was never there for us, had 15+ children and never married. In the end I wonder if he was finally reflecting on his constant actions that affected others. He died drunk, passed out, hit his head and bled out. Nobody helped him either even though they saw him. He left in a dark way but was that karma? Did he deserve that? I'm lost and I wish my mom was here.... She left too soon. Life just keeps challenging me with everyone passing away and I don't know how long I can go feeling tired. Tired of being tired. No roots anywhere.

Remember the baby's laughter in the stroller, or the blade of grass? I've been learning about giving my life purpose by being mindfull of how I interpret the world. Everyday I used to miss a lot of shit that I now realise were so precious. The same way you, much like I was and still am, probably are unconsciously blind to such things and that only gets us stuck and even more lost. Don't wanna be preachy and overstep, but you reached out and that's something i wish i did before. I hope we can keep going, bro.

@@unknownx7252 this is the original take, this was played at a very early listening party (before the stadiums). the diss verse in my interpretation was when Kanye was venting and blowing off steam and went in the booth and just railed on everyone and everything giving trouble on his mind (Drake, CyHi, Travis, his family, his struggles to be taken seriously as a businessman/fashion designer, and the whole red hat saga), but I'd like to think he always had a pure, emotionally vulnerable vision for this song and connected with Andre with that in mind In my opinion he flowed better on that version and was more aggressive but this version is a lot more heartfelt and in sync with Andre's very emotionally raw verses about family and mothers.

I heard the original 'leaked' version, which I didn't know was leaked at the time. I was so disappointed that Andre's verse was wasted in a diss track. Now I am so glad it's been changed. Drake was lowdown for leaking it for whatever reasons he had. Tit-for-tat, who cares? It was a boyish move for someone who perpetrates as a man. If your a man, then be a man and be about YOUR business!

Consider this..Andre starts by asking miss Donda to relay a message so that he knows his mom is up there in heaven...since he hasn't gotten a sign from his mother since her passing. later in the song he reveals the "real reason i was geeked to go to church, must confess" ..that he was fucking his tutor. Andre is so desperate to get a message from his mother that he's willing to confess something he's kept from this mother..a secret so scandalous that hopefully it provokes a reaction and hopefully a message from his mother...brilliant!!

I got a tinge of sadness and desperation from 3000- doesn't matter how old we get, we all wonder about things and we all want answers. It's 'oh poor baby' that gets me everytime. Some but not all often dehumanize their parents because they are the law in their lives. Having the perspective to look back at your parents when they raised you and how/why they made the choices they did. Understanding the choices that you may make as a parent. It changes your understanding. Especially if you're able to have those conversations, honestly, with your parents. Alot of them were kids when they raised us. Still moving through and learning in the world. Perspective.

This song is so good bro, thanks for your perspective guys. Kinda unrelated, but if you guys were interested in listening to a new Opeth song I'd recommend "Harlequin Forest". The death growls don't come into the song until you've already gotten into it so I think y'all would really like it.

André’s verse reminds me of Chamillionaire’s song “Rain” featuring Scarface “…walk out and see that three of your tires be on flat, and that one tire left’s a sign of hope, to help you keep on grindin when you’re kinda broke, that helps you to keep composure up around your folk, to keep you from tryin to wrap a rope around you throat…” Cham is so underrated and under appreciated….

The world needs more people like Andre’. The world needs more empathy. The world needs more people who can captivate your hearts, spirit, and mind! When Energy sources are created with the creativity and thought provoking powers, It seems like a shooting star.. they burn out so fast. Andre’ seems to have always worked towards balancing his journey. I truly appreciate him for that. Music can be so beautiful. Artists can bring so many feelings to the surface. Thank you.
