From the 48 laws of power: "Pablo Picasso never allowed himself to fade into the background; if his name became too attached to a particular style, he would deliberately upset the public with a new series of paintings that went against all expectations. Better to create something ugly and disturbing, he believed, than to let viewers grow too familiar with his work." ....Thus, The Life of Pablo.

Guys!! I understand that the album sounded very incoherent, I thought the same, but that's why this one guy who I can't remember made a playlist version of the album without the filler and sounds 5 times better than the original and actually has a theme. Here it is. Kanye West TLOP Playlist Tracklist Introduction- 1. Low Lights ACT 1 Kanye is high on life and is corrupted by fame 2. Famous 3.Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 4. Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2 5.Waves 6. Highlights. 7. Feedback ACT 2 Kanye is slowly coming down from the high and waking up, having a moment of clarity. 8. Freestyle 4 9. 30 Hours. 10. No More Parties In LA. 11. Fade ACT 3 Kanye makes a dramatic change and finds his faith and embraces a new life, one with God. 12. FML 13. Real Friends 14. Wolves 15. Ultralight Beam

I miss the old deadendhiphop. The straight from the go deadendhiphop. Ken got too old and now he only likes old jazz records. Feefo can actually articulate his thoughts. Myke now likes albums that have wack lyrics. I can't even remember the other guy's name cause he hardly talks. I miss the old deadendhiphop. I still love deadendhiphop. And I love deadendhiphop like Ken loves Purple Polo shirts.

Feefo is too much of a coward to maintain an opinion, I've always found that very annoying in this channel. Whenever he starts speaking his mind, he gets to nervous when the rest don't approve of him, and he quickly changes his mind against the odds of standing by himself. You can say what you want about Myke, whenever he states an opinion he owns it and gives his best arguments.
@poppatato4183
@poppatato4183 4 жыл бұрын
@@albums8825 I mean he's legit the only one who stands by the fact that he doesn't like doom all that much and he's infamously known for his "do it bump in the whip" so to say he's to cowardly to bring up his true opinions when that quotes become a staple for the channel is crazy to me
@albums8825
@albums8825 4 жыл бұрын
@@poppatato4183 Whenever someone disagrees with him he quickly changes his language, he starts to ask for approval before he even begins to talk and he gets nervous all of the sudden, he stops in his tracks and starts asking questions to everyone else. He tries to make ends meet so much, which may be a noble act, but in the end he just looks stupid and takes up time. Yes, he has disagreed with many things in the past, but he takes ages to get there, and always seems like he feels ashamed about it, and puts thousands of conditional, buts and maybes to get everybody to not bash his opinion whenever it is even mildly controversial. I don't know the guy but in regards to his opinion and arguing, I always felt he is a coward. Myke always lives through his opinion and doesn't give a fuck, and says it like it is (or maybe like it ain't, but he owns it). It's all about attitude.

Kanye doesn't even focus on music right now, his passion is in fashion. Can't force the guy to spend a month in Hawaii with a huge group of people to grind out a GOAT album. Music will never be his #1 focus anymore. TLOP still dope album though

Myke I could not agree with you more. I hated it at first, was complaining to my friends and telling people not to listen. Eventually it clicked and it has literally been the only thing I've listened to since. I'll listen to it back to back, at least several times a day every day. I've never played an album more right after release than this one. Also, on FML, strong agree, my favorite song on the album (next to Freestyle 4 and Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1). Outro is one of my favorite Kanye moments ever. Incredible.

It is all over the place, but I do see a sense of cohesion. The album for me fits into 3 thirds: Ultralight beam-Highlights (High energy, uplifting, funny, the joy/positives of self-indulgence) Freestyle 4-Wolves (the dark side/negatives of self-indulgence, Kanye's self-frustration, mania, struggles with growing up and dealing with others) Silver Surfer-Fade (Bonus tracks, more conventional songs, Kanye's ready to make music again) The original cover that asked "which one?" I think is a reference to his struggle between being Pablo Picasso and Pablo Escobar (a brilliant artist or a megalomaniac billionaire criminal). In reality, he can't approach either of their levels because most of the dialogue about him is about inconsequential tabloid bullshit.

This was a good episode. Everyone said their thing. I love it when Kinge goes off. The only thing is though, I want you guys to go back to the old format where you all discussed the album at once as a collective, rather than just taking turns. I know it was chaotic at times, but I like DEHH for the group discussions, and with this current format the discussions really gets toned down. Also, it would be a nice change of pace if you guys get more in-depth with these reviews, like discuss it more thoroughly, and you guys can get into things like the themes, meaning, and artistry about the album. There's a lot of things that could've been touched on that that hasn't; e.g. like the outro on FML, the eerie sample "see through the veil, and forget all your cares" and how Kanye followed that with pouring his heart out singing which sounded so raw and emotionally compelling. In any case, just in general getting more elaborate with the reviews would be nice in my opinion. But again, I still enjoyed this review, thanks for making it.

I like The Life of Pablo. I'd give it an 8/10. I keep listening to it and the songs are great. The production and features are dope, but there are too many wack lines Kanye throws in there. He needed to sit down and write some better verses. TLOP is not wack, nor is it a classic. I think it's a solid album with some serious lyrical issues.
