@@jonathantoj5775 Emmet Till was a 14 year old boy who was lynched for "offending" a white woman. He was beaten until he was unrecognisable, and died from his wounds. His mother fought for an open casket funeral, so everyone could see his disfigured face, and the consequences of bigotry and he posthumously became a face for the civil rights movement. Although Kanye's line could be considered insensitive, it gave me a reason to look into a story I was never told and allowed me to get more insight into lesser known faces of the civil rights movement.

I know this is solely a reaction channel but I wish you guys were familiar with how important this song, and this album is ( and most other kanye albums) and how he has evolved hip-hop and the music industry in general. The guy almost single handedly transformed hip hop away from gangsta rap into one which embraced soul and touched lyrically on content which previously had been unconventional for the time. I know many people struggle to separate Kanye the artist/produer from Kanye people hear about on twitter etc but the guy really is one of the greatest to ever do it and most of his albums are years ahead of their time.. I have no doubt in my mind that popular music would be remarkably different if it was not for Kanye West's music and influence.
