With the Buddha as cause, With the Buddha as condition, Through the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha I attain eternal, blissful, self, purified of all defilements [nirvana]. In the morning, I recite “Kanzeon”. In the evening, I recite “Kanzeon”. Reciting and reciting arises from the awakened mind. Reciting and reciting is not separate from [awakened] mind.

This sutra is chanted in American Zen centers. The rest of the ceremony is unknown to me. When I think of the embodiment of compassion, Kanzeon Bosatsu, my eyes fill with tears of gratitude. These monks are the army of compassion, in a cruel world. Gassho!

Powerful Mantra! With Buddha I affinity. With Buddha I have origin.
Guan-shi-yin Kan-ze-on Then the shi removed from Guanshiyin and become Guan Yin so does Kanzeon become Kannon. Show how so related Chinese and Japanese Buddhism are.

Is rewriting this part percived as practice as well?

A million times better than you. Go read Ch 25 before talking big you heretic! Kanzeon takes the form of ALL Gods including Brahma and is the King of the Gods so sayeth the Lotus Sutra. Don't you like it? You go to Avicci Hell. Simple.

@@icantakeit Think this is posting from my old mermaid promotional account but whatever. There's way more to buddhism than Mahayana. Even in Mahayana there's way more than the Lotus Sutra. To anyone that reads this, please don't think that knowing parts of the Lotus Sutra makes you Buddhist. I don't believe most that follow it well would reply as above. In one second I can be Buddhist, the next not and repeat countless times. This can be done without reading one word of any Sutta/Sutra. Though of course most Buddhists like to if they don't innately have similar knowledge. The Buddha did not read the Lotus Sutra to be Buddhist...
@caughtoncamera55675 жыл бұрын
Kanzeon is not a god. He's also not most powerful. We are all most powerful we just haven't realized it. Power doesn't exist anyway. Read on Amitabha and Avalokitesvara's start. This is ignorance.

First, Buddhism is supposed to have no gods, no deities to worship, not even Buddha. Second, the fact that they do worship in the way they do demonstrates the Tantric origins of Zen. Third, it was the Shiva-Shakti of Tantra who became the genderless or androgynous Guanshiyin / Guan Yin / Kanzeon / Kannon. Namo!

@@danbarbier , it's possible, because I felt a powerful wave of energy flowing through me, like I could feel and be one with universe in such moment. My body reacted strangely to it. I'd appreciate if someone could explain this "rule".
