I love the song and I am happy that it is being sung in Hawai’i, like masese, but is there any acknowledgement of the song writers in Fiji? Sakiusa Bulicokocoko who wrote masese and Saimoni Vuatalevu who wrote “tucake mai”? What I read in the description is all Kapena song, but is it really though? Were the rights to the song bought? Is Kapena claiming all the royalty from selling the song on iTunes?Just making sure we are appreciating each other, especially those who worked hard to put songs together,

Mosese Naleba - These guys have been playing this song for 30+ years. They probably attributed the original songwriters on their albums from way back when. Thank you for posting that info here. Maybe HiSessions will add it to their video notes.

@@mosesetuberi2092 Thank you Mosese for raising the issue on the owner of the work who worked hard in creating / composing the song, BUT, whether we are getting anything out of it when our song is sung and recorded by other Groups, especially overseas Groups ? > Not at all.....As the Copyright Owner of the song, Kapena should have the courtesy of seeking my consent and maybe an Agreement be made between the two Parties on some payments for its usage before recording the song. Kapena recorded and playing the song for over 30 years to date, and a clear infringement of copyright works. I composed "Tucake Mai" in 1986, and being the Copyright Owner of the song, it was registered with the Australasian Performing Rights Association APRA, then, before it was transferred to the Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) when it was formed and began its operations from 1993. > On the issue that its been sold on iTunes.....its an infringement of copyright works, if Kapena is selling it there and getting the money, its a clear illegal practice.....its daylight robbery..!!...Thank you again Mosese for your comments and concern on this matter.... I'll see what I can do. Vinaka.
