I cannot express my joy and happiness for the transformation of Manila, not only the Pasig River, Manila Bay, Paco, Tondo, Divisoria and all the places that need cleaning. Many thanks to Miss Gina Lopez, coming from Chicago, Pasig River reminds me of the Chicago River, beautiful and clean with flowers and fountain across the river and a nice architectural boat ride. Don't let the squatters come, rhey dont care.

Mark Captain, Yes I know this because I watched the same video you did. What I am saying Is that those people lived on that "particular" land for generations and now they have been displaced. The clean up effort and reeducation process could have still taken place but allowed the people to stay where they have been. Of course the housing would have needed to be rebuilt.

Folks who used to live there didnt have any options anyways so they settled alongside of the river. Plus staying there for long wont make them the owner, they're still illegal settlers luckily tho the government made a step and helped them. It's a win-win situation.

Mark Captain, apparently they did have other options as we see now, those options were later created for them. Which could have been done long ago. It's only after the this became a problem for the "upper ups" that a solution was made. When the problem was relegated to the poor it was of no concern.

Come to think of this; why would the government spend millions of funds for houses when there are no illegal settlers. Cause its like youre telling me that the government should have made houses even before there were no illegal settlers. Dont you think its a waste of money?
