I had a 1986 model of that same bike, red white and blue with a square headlight IIRC. The nicest looking model was the 1985, red bike, black engine and blue seat. Awesome restoration hob, congrats.

Anvil reliability, could ride it across the world ! There is a red white and blue XL600R with 2700 miles for sale near me, 1986, I believe, wish it was electric start, I'd buy it. My buddy says buy a 650 bottom end / cases, and swap it....

Same here. 47 now,just bought my buddies 88 suzuki dr100. We rode it as kids when it was new,best cruising/ trail bike there was. I couldn't stand to see it sold off to a stranger. My son will ride it when it fits him👍👍
