Thanks I enjoyed your video of the CAT 259 D3. I use one at work too and I really enjoy the days I get to operate it

FWIW, I would test drive as many skid steers as possible before you make your final decision (unless of course you already have). Try Kubota, New Holland, Takeuchi, JCB, Bobcat, etc. Enjoying your videos Joe.

Thanks, but many of them were not even really an option due to no dealers in the area, and prior reputations.

Hey Kap, I have an ASV RC50 that has close to 3000 hrs on it and I promise you I can out work that Cat. I will bet you my best bird dog that you cannot keep up with me in follow the leader. You talk about load leveler and ride features that are available on the Cat to smooth out the ride the ASV undercarriage does that from the get go. If you watched the videos at ASV's web sight like I suggested you would have seen how the Cat is ass heavy and just spins in muddy conditions like you were in this video. My machine is more weight neutral and just works on top and over the mud like you were in. I live in central Ohio and I can't leave until spring, but I would be willing to show you what I am talking about. Man you are a great guy and I am not trying to upset you but I am very passionate about ASV machines. They are unfairly the black sheep of compact track loaders. One last tidbit, They were the first dedicated track machines built in the USA.

Kapper Outdoors all of the new D3’s come standard with it. Just turn it on and set the position with the right trigger and it will blink then to activate it you push down to the left and hit the trigger with the right joystick. How much did they quote you on it as I just bought one myself.

@kapperoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
it was not that bad. Another reason I like them, the bigger the tracks, the more it smoothens out bumps, unlike when a tractor tire hits a hole. Thanks.

Have you looked into any ASV Skidsteers, Takeuchi or JCB's or are there no dealers near you ? ''How farms work'' seems to really like their JCB teleskid. ''Letsdig18'' loves his Takeuchi, seems super tough. ''Stanley, ''Dirt Monkey'' showed how good the traction on the ASV is in snow and the ride is hard to compare. That Cat you have looks like a tank and well built. What dealer is closest to you and gives you the best support is probably what matters the most though, right ?
@kapperoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Yes, even Dirt Monkey says it loud and clear. Which ever one you pick, it must have good, local dealer support for the future, which makes 'that' one better than the rest.. So yeah that was a really big part of the equation. Thanks.

LOL Doubtful that skidsteer would have done any better in the ditch you got the tractor stuck in. As a test, you might try it out in that ditch and see what it will take to pull it out if it does get stuck up? Just dont get yourself in trouble.
@kapperoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure these tracked machines are much harder to get stuck that a tractor with R4's. But at least I have other things that could pull it out if need be.
@MikeyDunn5 жыл бұрын
Probably not the best track pattern for traversing mud, lol! A more traditional V pattern would be better I'd have thought, at least it pushes the slime outwards instead of just paddling into it.
@kapperoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I guess this is supposed to be a pretty good pattern as it sheds the mud a little easier. Who knows. We'll see which one we get if the numbers work out!
