About the Kar and Mosin test with the 15 scope, the Mosin was going over his head even when sighting in on the exact same spot as the kar. This means that the Mosin is more powerful than the Kar. More power outta the barrel (which'll lead for a stronger hit down range) with the mosin than the Kar. And it makes sense too because the mosin's barrel is just a little bit longer than the kar (longer the barrel the more length and speed that bullet has)

I realize this post is 3 years old, but I think what this shows is that it's measured from when the bullet leaves the barrel. The Mosin being longer than the Kar98 is indicative of that.

Wow interesting. I did feel like I was hitting shots more consistently with the Mosin than I ever have with the Kar98 but I just put it down to a “head thing”. Maybe this would suggest it has a slightly higher bullet velocity than the Kar98?

The ballistics difference is maybe because the scope might be attached a bit higher on the moisin than it's on the kar? I haven't looked close to see if that's the case though

The optic’s hight-over-bore was my first guess as well. It would be interesting to see if this can be easily compared as a slight difference can sometimes translate to noticeable difference at range.

Is how you tested the distance the gun pulled up on the wall the way you did it in this video or did you do it differently off camera? If so you should've pulled out the mosin first, walked up until that gun raised then swapped to the kar to see if it also was raised rather than the other way around since the mosin is the longest

Does the loudness even matter at close range? At 100 meters, they are both audible. The thing is, they are about equally audible at long range, so you start to hear them at the same distance. It's not like you're not gonna hear the mosin at 100 meters

These are incredibly minute details that won't affect gameplay for 99.99% of players in 99.99% of situations. I love WackyJacky's attention to detail and how he puts everything under the microscope, but these kinds of videos only fuel the fire of players who quit playing months ago and just pop in to complain that the game is "broken" because of these sorts of analyses.

A 91/30 Mosin is longer than a Kar98 in reality. The longer barrel would lend to higher muzzle velocity, so the projectile being higher than the Kar98 projectile at 500 meters may be closer to real life as well. A Mosin is loud as hell in real life, again, longer barrel, higher velocity (if the caliber was the same, it’s not) louder report. Mosin’s are loud and you cam echo roll for a while too. Fun guns

The misalignment of the mosin is a huge deal and it's not only an issue at a distance. I've noticed it at extremely close range as well when my lesser-powered scope's crosshairs were right on the enemies heads, yet it still pulls high. Leave it to blueballs to break something when they are literally trying to copy a previously existing weapon.

im not a gun expert but the barrel lenght of the mosin is 730 mm or 28.7 inches, while the kar98k has a barrel lenght of 600 mm or 23.6 inches lets say we have 2 people on a shooting range 1 with mosin and 1 with kar98k, both shooting at a target 500m away from them, the person with the mosin has to aim a bit lower than the person with the kar98k in order to hit the target in conclusion yes the barrel lenght does affect the trajectory of the bullet and yes the mosin can reach farther than the kar98k due to the bullet that comes flying out of the mosin flies with 865m/s or 2838ft/s and 755m/s or 2477ft/s for the kar98k

The dots on the 6-15x aren't bullet drop compensators. They are Mil Dots used to measure targets and find the distance. Have to adjust your scope to the distance.

I find another difference. The iron sight in the Mosin Nagant is pretty good, easier to use than the KAR98's one, and well, than the non-existant iron sights of the M24. If the mosin is the first weapon you loot at landing, that iron sight isn't bad to deal with players at a medium/short range. Of course SMGs and other weapons are probably better in rhat situation, but still, not bad at all.

Not a bug. Scope mount may be different introducing a slightly different distance between barrel and scope center and that would in fact throw off zero.

The scope mount for the Mosin puts the scope much higher compared to Kar98. That could misalign the scope vs bullet trajectory at higher distances.

Wouldn't the bullet from the Mosin going over at that range mean it has less drop or a higher bullet speed? At the very least I don't really see it as a drawback cause it does kinda mean you can just aim lower assuming you're not zeroing and just going based off of the mildots on the scopes.

What explains the difference between the Kar and the Mosin on the sound of the guns while at different distances, you'll hear that the Kar unsuperessed is louder than the mosin because the Kar's barrel is shorter than the Mosin's (the shorter the barrel the louder the gun is) (excluding calibers). And its not even that big of a difference because the barrel betweent the two aren't that big of a difference. PUBG IS the realistic battle royale, to some extents.

I think the mosin actually shoots a faster bullet. Especially since the Karabiner 98k is actually a 7.92 x 57 mm bullet, whilst a Mosin uses the 7.62x54r cartridge. Although the casing of the Kar can make it a faster bullet, it will eventually slow down quicker thanks to the way the Mauser rounds was designed as opposed to the 7.62x54r which could have a better theoretical aerodynamics which can make it travel faster and possess a low bullet drop.
