Blood1116 No your not, they aren't the enemy to me but they certainly aren't the good guys the movies pitch them as, although with the EU no longer canon I can no longer cite page numbers and books that would prove this considering half the evidence stems from the EU and what the rebellion did and turned into after defeating the empire although I guess you could say there is substantial amount in the canonical continuity as well, thanks again Disney (not really fuck them)

The true enemy of what? The empire? In that case, yes they are the enemy. In a war, there are two sides who both believe they are fighting for the right thing. Sure those stormtroopers were just doing their duty and they probably have a family back home somewhere, but same could be said of the rebels. The difference in star wars is that the empire is ruled by the Sith, and they rule through fear and destruction. This is what the galaxy looks like without Jedi to keep the peace.

The point of this story is that Kara can’t control her Force powers; the climax is her channeling grief and rage to disable the stormtroopers, and the resolution is her dad calming her down. Adding a scene where her problem is fixed would go against the story’s theme.

No matter how many times I watch this since the day Kara came out, it stand tall above any other fan film out there. Joe Sill has captured the essence of what SW is. The look is authentic - the outfits don't look like Comicon cosplay costumes, but gritty and worn. The special effects are Hollywood worthy - fantastic accomplishment integrating CGI effects with live footage seamlessly. And lastly, the story isn't another jedi duel affair or nerdy fan service, but a different glimpse into what force wielding refugees have to go through under the Imperial rule. Can't thank you enough for producing such a wonderful piece Joe Sill. Hope you will delight the fans with more SW films!

@ronjodway35219 жыл бұрын
+VJ89VJ Not sure what you were watching, but this was excellent! Yes, Star Wars has it's moments of humor, philosophy and adventure, but also has moments of pain and sorrow... i.e. Luke talking with Leia in RotJ... that was a powerful scene... but you're saying it needed Wicket to step in and make it humourous? That trashes the whole scene, just like humor would for this... this is an excellent vignette that is framed by potential. How did Kara arrive here? Where is she from? The Rebels they are headed to, are they still there? Take a step back and realize this is a short scene. The fact that it is "Drenched in emotion" is perfect for this particular scene.

Plot armor and terrori... I mean rebels are the "good guys" and so they are invulnerable, while their Stormtrooper counter parts are meant to be morons just so the plot can advance. I admire the effort of this short film and this is a criticism of the original trilogy, rebels tv show, and future films. Remarkable amount of emotion for such a brief storyline! I had tears in my eyes at the end, and can't fully explain why. It's like, say, a great U2 song -- it just touches these mysterious, redemptive, universal emotional chords, and the viewer fills in the details from their own psyche. Everything about this is top-flight.
@dackmont8 жыл бұрын
Just read the Reddit comments that were highly critical of the story. Sure, take them to heart, but remember there are people like me who like U2 etc. etc. ... heck I even loved Avatar despite the plot, and it took me multiple views to get tired of it. Anyway, for me, Kara resonated. Sure the visuals are great but for me it was all about the emotion, and the actors. Whatever else you do please follow that part of your muse; it's spot on.

This is just lovely. Thinking beyond the edge of the screen, to where these kids are hunted and have nowhere to turn. Not everyone has Ben Kenobi to look out for them...

This was light years better then TFA! Hopefully the people over at Disney will see this video and figure out what the Star Wars fan truly wants

Wow! Beautifully made! The acting was great. Especially Kara! I really felt her pain when she used the force. Also the CGI in the air battle was on point. The shots from above the X-Wings while they were flying looked great!

Awesome Pawsome! I love these independent films with talented film makers doing Star Wars Stuff. It's like what Mr. Myagi said...got to keep balance in life...for all life in which keeps me sane and patient waiting for all the films to come out. These snack quickies get me through the day. Good Job. Need more! A+++

By far the most EMOTIONAL and visually STUNNING Star Wars fan film I've ever had the pleasure of seeing on YT. Right there along with "Rebel Scum" and "Maul". Amazing work!!! I hope you use the same actress for new SW projects.😍👌

Beautiful work! Great story. There's more character development in this seven minute short than in the whole TFA movie.
