I want to thank Nate for the great shots of opening cupboards, walking through doors, making the coffee step by step, etc. I always think, “wow, he has to do all that set up for just one or two seconds for the edit.” But, it’s those tiny things that make us apart of the journey not just observers. Your dedication for the final product is well appreciated.

Just a couple suggestions for your culinary skill journey Kara: 1. Always peel ginger! 2. When using a knife especially for slicing / chopping, don't anchor the knife (when you hold the tip down) and use an up and down motion, you should really try to use a slicing motion and move the knife THROUGH what you are cutting like a stroke so you use the entire length of the blade and not just rock up and down on one spot or section of it. 3. Just remember when adding vegetable to ramen (unless you pre-blanch them all) Never add them all at once, they all cook at different times so add them by how long they need to be perfectly done and it really helps to cook your noodles first then remove and keep aside until everything else is ready and then add them at the end for perfect texture. Also it really pays to spend a little more and get quality Korean ramen packs instead of the old college $0.79 a pack, I recommend the following: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Nongshim Neoguri Samyang (these may be perfect for you PB Ramen)

Some ice skating tips: - just practice a lot! Your feet aren't supposed to be facing inward like that, but with practice it starts to hurt less and you learn how to keep your legs more upright - once you get semi-comfortable with skating, try not to "walk" on the ice but instead push with the side of your foot - bend your knees a lot hope this helps! love your vids :)

Great video, I adore you both! I'm quite a bit older, 40, and I have 4 kids ages ranging from 12-20, and I've been so inspired by all of your incredible videos! I didn't even know there were such beautiful places in the world and I want to see some of them before I die! So last year I bought a 30 ft RV and am renovating it so that all 5 of us can live comfortably in it & hopefully we'll be hitting the road by the Summer. Every morning I watch your videos, live vicariously through your adventures, and remember why I've taken on such a strange project (Ppl in town always ask me, who buys an RV when you live on an island, where are ya gonna go? Theirs literally only about 4 or 5 campers/RVs and 1 skoolie on the island) I'd also like to mention I live in a small town, on an island, in Alaska, so it doesn't get much more remote than here. I've lived in the town that I was born in all my life; I've only traveled out of state for medical reasons. I see my RV as the ticket to getting out and seeing parts of the world and showing my kids that the world is so much bigger and there are so many different ppl in the world than just on our small rock.

Although I consider myself a HUGE fan for the last 4 years, I hope you wouldn’t mind some criticism. One of the reasons why I fell in love with your channel (and you) was because your travels were very relatable. Something we can also do if we put our minds to it. I used to take notes and wanted to follow in your footsteps. But off late, most of your videos are so extreme, that I don’t relate to it anymore. Either it’s too expensive or too rigorous or both. Don’t get me wrong - it’s your channel and your life, you do you. But as a viewer, sigh, sorta missing the old days.

I can see where you’re coming from, and as another huge fan I feel like I should share my perspective… I feel really encouraged to push myself outside of my comfort zone by watching the two of them try new things. So I guess it’s all about the balance!

@@gentledem Yes, I’m sure they have gained many new fans who love extreme sports or endurance events. To each his own, I guess. It’s just that when I clicked the “Subscribe” button many years ago, it was with different expectations. At that time, they were a fun couple out to see the world in the most affordable way they can - now they have become your regular Influencers.

But i honestly love seeing the expensive content and imagining that i am there living there too. Both the old and new vids are just different types of content and i like both. And i feel like they can’t keep making relateable travel content bc that will get boring for THEM and they’ve already done enough of it in the past, as a viewer i wanna see something new too. Different ppl different choices ig haha

Hey Kara and Nate! Love your videos! So I play ice hockey, and the reason the skates are pointing out and your ankles are bending in is just because you haven’t tied your skates tight enough. You essentially want to tie your skates tight around the ankles so they don’t move and you can’t bend them! Can’t wait to watch you guys in Finland and hope this helps!!
@greysonbarrows24792 жыл бұрын
As a triple a hockey player I shell say when your skates are going outwards it’s means your skates are to lose and when your skates are to lose if you make a turn with crossover your ankle might end up breaking. You can stop by putting force on your two feet and making them almost into a split. Hope this helps

For the ice skates, it might be al harder to keep them straight at first, something i’ve noticed that is very important when you’re tightening them is, firstly, bumping the back of your skate until your heel is at the back of the skate, and making sure it’s tied VERY tight. (you can wrap the laces around if it’s long enough.)
@kodyhogan35682 жыл бұрын
also for someone who played hockey since they were 5, I recommend pushing your toe down as you are pulling up to tighten thee laces. Make sure your skates are tight! Not tight enough to cut off circulation but enough to be snug. If you are going to do a marathon, please buy skates and have them baked. You will want to go ice skating a few times to break them in as well. Also a tip when ice skating, squat down like you are sitting in a chair. Keep that chest up and dont push back wards but more to the side. Almost at a 45 degree angle. To get the most off your stride, finish your stride by pushing off the toe! Best of luck!

Well, I finally did it! Back in April 2021 I started to watch your entire video catalog and today I finally have caught up to y'all in real time! I would say I don't know what I am going to do with my spare time but I've fallen in love with your friendship with Eamon and Bec, so I am headed over to their channel to start at the beginning of their videos! I am finally hitting that subscribe button and following you on Instagram (I didn't want spoilers), I can't wait to see where your travels take you next!
