Im sitting with a carton of Amul milk in front of me! What strikes me in these photos pre-liberalisation, is the absence of mass manufactured goods - the local store is all jars with beans, spices etc - while today there would be much more pre-packaged things. Also, the kitchens have almost entirely locally made utensils, not all the cheap plastic stuff we see in kitchens today - this has in the years since driven the destruction of cottage industry. Great photos and what a fabulous archive
