Ended grabbing a Bastinelli Mako fixed for all the reasons you listed above. I adore it. Very comfy in hand.

I have a TOPS CUT. It is a really bad ass blade. Built like a tank and sharp as a razor.

Believe it or not one of my favorite edc knives is the Browning Vanquish. For $30 you can't go wrong. It has the snag feature which I find deploys faster than the Emerson wave feature.

Carried CUT as EDC and for deployments. Far superior over lock blades, compact, maintains an edge and easy to sharpen. A really good GP knife.

Always prefer reach over a little weight economy. The difference between 4 and a quarter over 2 or 3 inches can be huge when needed. Also, slashing may damage, but stabbing kills. My EDC is the TOPs CUT, very useful tool, that can end a conflict quickly. Swanagen and TOPs hit this one out of the park.

I mean I'd argue that you can "stab" with a karambit, its just done in a punch rather than an icepick motion. It's a. Modified stab but a stab wound none the less rather than just a slash or cut.

I ordered that Smith & Wesson karambit off of Amazon I think the next one on this list that I like a lot is that Kabar pocket strike

Thanks for watching and the comment! The S&W knife is quite good (very light, good as a carry knife). While the KaBar is quite interesting, I'm not too fond of the deep carry sheath.
@JLee-bi4es3 жыл бұрын
@@bladebruddahs6676 yea that sheath on the kabar is different. Have you tried canku knives they make allot of retention ring karambit style knives. Or should I say clones. But they're ok for a poboy like me the army doesn't pay me much lol

@@JLee-bi4es Hey, well if you get it, please share your thoughts. I've seen the Canku knives, just haven't gotten down to getting one (yet). As you can imagine, my "wish list" is quite extensive so it might be awhile until I do. That said though, I'd love to hear your opinion about them. As always, your comments are appreciated and thank you for your service!

Enjoying your Karambit series; have been adding some 'straight' and non hawk-bill bladed ring knives to my collection as well (starting with Tops CUT 4.0). Thinking about the Tops 'Devils Claw 2' too. Currently EDC the Snody Snake-Charmer (KaBar production model) nice light ring knife. Thanks for introducing theses other models!

Hello, thanks for the comment! Yes, I considered the KaBar knife but ultimately didn't get it because of the green sheath (a matter of personal preference, it's a bit bright for me). If you end up getting the Devil's Claw 2, tell us how you like it!

@@bladebruddahs6676 in my country i can't own guns. And dont have money to acquire it on other ways. I seen this Smith & Wesson one at a local shop, what is this blade good for ? Survival in woods or would you say self defense.

@bladebruddahs66763 жыл бұрын
@@rainsnowflake4664 Hello, no I didn't get a Fox branded karambit (yet, hehehe) but you did note I have the DART, the Bastinelli Creations Mako is also produced by Fox. I have larger hands so I wouldn't go with the 599 series, probably get a 479? There are a lot of similarities of the 479 with the BladeTech Riptide so I was actually thinking more about getting the Bastinelli Black Bird (which is also produced by Fox).
@rainsnowflake46643 жыл бұрын
@@bladebruddahs6676 there is a 478 and a 479 fox karambit design for large hands. Own a copy ( because were I live fox stuff are quite expensive) its quite comfortable with and without gloves. You could look on Google for specific on the size. Oh I do have the ka bar tdi pocket strike

Real training will matter far more than blade shape but it's always fun to talk about those details. I love Tops ring knives, I already have the CUT 4.0 and the poker. Any opinion about the devil's claw?
@bladebruddahs66763 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Wholeheartedly agree about training... As for the Devil's Claw 2, it's one of the best fixed blade karambits I have. Solid build, ergonomic, and swift.

Have a question on the kabar TDI fast strike. Will the sheath setup allow you to carry the sheath inside the belt close to belly and still allow for deployment of the knife?

Sorry but no, not every knife with a finger ring is a karambit. A "c" curved blade is needed, other wise is just another knife, a knife with a ring, etc.....
@bladebruddahs66763 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! I noted that this video is covering knives styled like a karambit but clearly noted that they are not a karambit in the traditional sense. I do want to differentiate there are "knives with a ring", I have seen huge cleavers with rings, but these knives are like a karambit in that they can be used like a karambit in Silat and Kali applications, hence I've included them in this video series.
