It's interesting, Karamo explained that the production didn't want him to be driving because they didn't want him to be triggered but he was adamant about being the one driving because he would fall asleep otherwise. After it happened he told the producers that he didn't want to do the episode. But he instead ended up making a beautiful connection with the republican cop and are close friends to this day.

I love getting to know what happened behind the scene. That episode of Karamo with the police officer was very knowledgeable and a great episode. I’m glad he got to spreak about important topics

Except that it's not just a few "bad apples" in the police force, but a structural and institutional problem that can't be "solved" by a conversation between two individuals. I love QE and Karamo, but this is an opportunity to make the more difficult point that racism is fundamentally about the way institutions of the state disproportionately apply violent force on certain communities.

Bad move on production for even considering of keeping up with a prank, not even letting them know so they wouldn't get panicky. If Bobby knew then why couldn't the people that would be most affected by it emotionally?

I think it would be more tailored to the driver to panic if anything. It's unfortunate/fortunate that Karamo ended up in the driver seat but it wouldn't be a prank if anyone else knew cause the reactions wouldn't be the same. I think it was aimed to be harmless but I think the discomfort we all had when they got pulled over says a lot about our society.

its not as if Karamo said anything different to what most people say to explain to these all life matters idiots but because its on telly and because Karamo is so damn lovable and is this strong smart confident, kind, gay(i think they find that less intimidating) man, they actually take head and of course because the police officer acknowledges these truths.
