My oldest sister was living in another state & her boyfriend was beating her every day, my mother could feel that my sister was dying, he was strangling her & hitting her with hammers. My mother sent my brothers to go get her & bring her back home because she could feel my sister's life slipping away. Thankfully her boyfriend didn't follow her but my beautiful sister LOOKED like he beat the spirit out of her when she came home, it took her months of physical therapy to recover. If it wasn't for my mother's instinct, my sister would've been un-alived by that coward.

I know that having been on this big beautiful ball of dirt for over 62 years that I should just be used to that kinda thing, but it’s just bananas to me even now that folks don’t have enough respect for one another to give them the slightest bit of grace by allowing them the decency due in letting them speak their mind/truth without interruption. I always tell my children and grandchildren that if you have a valid point/argument that holds water there’s no reason not to hear that other person out because when you constantly interject/interrupt it looks as though you’re doing it out of desperation more often than not. You might not have disrespected her mom, but no real mother is going to stand by silent when a man is mistreating her daughter and grandbabies especially if she's around to see it or the grands or daughter's telling her. No matter how you and her patch everything up her mom isn't going to be ok with you and her daughter being together because she feels they're probably getting treated worse behind closed doors. Secondly mom is saying those things because her daughter didn't act a certain way until getting with you. She feels her daughter is being manipulated into believing she's against her just because she's against her being with you. It's hurtful when a mother nurture and love their child just to have someone come along and influence them to the point of turning their back on them especially if she's been to h311 and back trying to raise her. Everything she's saying is hurt coming out, and it don't mean she's saying everything right, but that woman loves her daughter and grandbabies. I can tell her daughter is only being protective of you but it's not ok for her to disrespect or allow you to disrespect her mom and you might say well she disrespected me, but when you're mistreating someone's daughter and grands you can't expect them to come at you with respect period. Also, would you be ok with your girlfriend being disrespectful to your mom? You wouldn't and rightfully so. Lastly do you have a daughter? Imagine her bringing a man home and he mistreated her and your grands in your home or even if you heard about it happening. As a real dad you'd be ready to knock somebody's dome smooth off or get him away from your babies. I've been that wife and I'm now that mother and grandmother who's experienced it from both angles and you think that you've got her mind right now, but she will need her mom more than she knows and begin to see her mistakes. No one comes between a mother and her child. A real man wouldn't be ok with coming between them. Start encouraging your lady to work it out with her mom instead of manipulating her vulnerability and her feelings towards you might change for better over time. I wish the best for y'all.
