This album literally changed everything. You had to be there to understand. I understand there was beats in the past before 2008 that used 808s. However, this album took that 808 to another level. Especially during a time when it was all about trap rap and southern catchy hooks. This album busted open a door for the many producers that came out after 2008 using an 808 drum.

The beeps of a heart monitor hitting a high, then low note; drums of a beating heart to the sound of bongo-like heartbeats. the high-hat drum symbol represents the quick shallow breaths of a patient on a respirator. The sounds of an angelic choir throughout the song alludes to his battle with an imminent death. the beat stops and gives way to the choir/angels at 4:32 to show he may have lost his will to live, but he regains control at 4:54 showing his persistance to stay alive and do what he loves...
