Haikyuu to me has a very beautiful ending as a manga reader:) It's my fav ending story out of all manga I've read so far. It makes a lot of ppl cry so bad haha, not in terms of sad but it's more like touching, like all the pay offs are incredible. It's a really great experience and I can't even hate the team we've against even if they're annoying, cause all of them will be friends in the end. I can tell that the author (Furudate) really loves all their characters. Respect for Furudate sensei

Yea indeed it was a great ending, furudate however wanted to do more after the nationals but Hinata garduaying from Karasuno was fast forwarded no 2nd and 3rd year journey was shown I wish we could see more there... Anyways not complaining just wanted Haikyuu to run longer 😂😂😊

It's a solid 6/10 mostly because it's ultra rushed due to shounen jump pressuring him. Lot's of loose ends and characters barely get wrapped up in favor of focusing on Hinata vs Kageyama, feels almost like Naruto where in Shippuden it focused on Naruto and Sasuke and the rest of the side characters get little to no shine or character moments. While things I want to see get relegated to a single panel or at best a single chapter.

11:20 What Asahi is doing is delaying his spike timing but maintaining his form. Specifically, he is waiting for when the blockers are going down. The benefit is that this avoids a kill block since the blockers are coming down the likelihood they are above you is low. So they have to plate block and if you hit it hard enough it'll bounce far away off their hand. He got this idea from Ushiwaka in season 3. If you remember there's a point where someone from Karasuno was attempting to block him where they say, "Why is he still going up" when Karasunk's blocker were already on their way down

4:52 This is one on my favourite moments that show how Hinata is growing. Remember the last point against Shiratorizawa where Hinata, instead of going for a minus tempo, decided to slow down and go first tempo with everyone so he could get "mixed in" with the team? Back then he did that practically on instinct but NOW he's actually thinking about it. Haikyuu is really the king of bringing things back in an interesting way.

Date Tech playstyle is to put a lot of pressure on other team, making them play against their usual playstyle, in attempt to "go around" blocks. Tsuki on other hand is a smart player. Instead of making opponents playing into his hand, he reads entire court, looking for partterns and flaws in opponent's strategy and uses it against them or waiting for a mistake. Both uses read blocking and soft blocking, but core concept is slightly different. Kuro on Nekoma is similar, in addition to being very athletic, but Kuro has nowhere near patience and smarts as Tsuki.

I do think Asahi was a contender for MVP, but I admit that I really want Ukai to have an MVP in this training arc...loved your appreciation for him but both he and Takeda really are the overall MVPs of all these training arcs. They most likely will never have a very flashy moment like the players but their work in the subtle foundation for the team. Makes me very curious about who you will choose (or have already chosen) for epsiode 10 because I'm already caught between "the player" and "the support."

I like it that you like this particular sports anime, sadly it looks like they will do it injustice for the next parts that haven't been animated yet, the manga (it's completed) was awesome. For me Haikyuu and Diamond no Ace are my fav sports anime, top sports anime. I highly recommend Diamond no Ace after haikyuu for sports anime, it's baseball

+1 on Ace of the Diamond. Has great character writing and slow burn development. The whole team is the main character basically and other teams are also focused on sometimes, where you really start to know the characters and root for them too. MC is an underdog going to the big amazing baseball school that is the underdog to other big baseball schools in a great rivalry duo within the team. Ive read that it’s one of the more realistic sports animes, especially in terms of what student athletes experience.
