3:00 i always forget that the 1st season of Cobra Kai took place in 2018 and season 4's tournament was 2019 so since season 5 was a summer season season 6 has spanned several months, so I'm assuming it's early 2020 by the beginning of the tournament in season 6. So the timeline would make sense, depending on if there's a time jump at the end of CK.

I'm really excited for this film!!! From the articles/interview I've read, the director said he contacted the Cobra Kai creators and had their input on how to do the film without ignoring everything that came before in the Cobra Kai series. So hopefully, things get addressed like the events of Cobra Kai and that the Cobra dojo itself still had an impact and exists somehow.

We don’t know how long Dre was in China, he could’ve left a year or two later and Ben Wangs character could’ve been someone he raised or been knowing for awhile

Danial looks different in the trailer. Since, it takes place 3 years after Cobra Kai season 6. Some changes might have occured.

the Cobra Kai creators did give their feedback for the movie, and according to an interview with this movie director not only does he say that he included that feedback in this movie but he also says he's a fan of Cobra Kai

I’m so happy we are getting more karate kid/cobra Kai but my only wish is that it doesn’t recon any of the Cobra Kai series or any of the karate kid remake in 2010. 🙏🏼 if not it’s perfect and I can’t wait, it was a good first trailer, didn’t give to much away and was intriguing. 🙌🏼👍🏻

I'm sure you don't know, but just so you know when you see it in someone's name in the future - Wang is actually pronounced the same as Wong. Sometimes they won't correct you if it has been butchered for years (like Vera Wang's name), but they'll greatly appreciate it. It's one of the holy trinity of my public service announcements, along with fixing people who type/write "St. Patty's Day" and those who have motion smoothing on their tv's turned on.

I’m not bashing this movie and in any way, it looks great, BUT they may have already broken the Cobra Kai continuity/cannon, not in any important or meaningful way, but it’s still a concern cause it could imply more continuity mistakes to come, but the Mr miyagi’s house went from its original design, to a clearly different looking house in cobra kai even though it’s meant to be the same house, (no problem, Daniel probably just did some super heavy remodeling over the years, he has the money for it) to now in this movie back to the old original design? huh 😂?

Real talk: I am hyped. Tonally this feels like the karate kid (1984)I grew up with. As much as I enjoyed Cobra Kai , there were moments that felt soap opera like and there were moments when they jumped the shark. I believe they will make cobra Kai canon for a number of reasons. Cobra Kai is wayyyyyy to popular and not making it canon would upset a huge fan base.
