I have sc4 red light is flashing despite there is full water in the container i have tested solenoid valve ok, the pump imk is ok but it doesn't run when connected coul you please help. With thanks.

Hi, I had the same problem. Red light flashing on the SC5. Tested the solenoid and the pump and all were in good working order. I disconnected the water tubes attaching to the pump, shook out excess water within those which looked like it might be creating an air block, filled up the water container and added water directly to the pressure chamber. Reassembled everything and it started working again. I'm not very technical and can't be sure that clearing those tubes of water actually solved the issue but I couldn't find any other videos or posts resolving this particular issue so thought I'd post a response to the excellent video shown here.

Hi. Please can you offer some advice. When I plug my sc5 in and switch it on the house electricity trips. I've had a look inside and can't see any wires a miss or faulty looking. I'm afraid that I don't have a multimeter (actually I did until someone stole all of my tools!). One thing I do notice is on the base of the boiler there is a little bit of corrosion likely coming through from the inside. Any ideas much appreciated.

Hello, please check the heating element at the bottom of the boiler.. I believe these heaters are grounded already.. Also check the solenoid coil, it also causes the breakers to tripped off..

I can buy a multimeter sure no problem but what am I looking to check. My dad was a spark so he can chip in to. Thanks a million 👍

I have DE4002, It is said that the pressure pump is faulty due to limescale. Is it possible to fix this?

Yes, you can buy a descaling powder to remove limescale inside the boiler..

Great video 👍🏻 I have the SC5 and when I dock the removal reserve tank the pump starts to try and pump but then cuts out - do you know what this could possibly be? Could it be limescale blockage in pipes?

Thanks for the video! Mine has a problem: it heats up and releases a good blast of steam, but then the steam soon slows to a trickle. If i depress the trigger, the pressure builds up again, then the same: blast to trickle. I already bought and replaced the solenoid but it made no differnce. Any idea what the problem/fix could be?

My sc5 can’t fill the boiler, if i fill boiler directly everything great, but when the boiler is out of water cant fill from tank! Do you have any suggestions?

Try to descale the boiler first.. there is a problem with the water level sensor inside the boiler..

May I ask what if the maintenance valve is stuck. Any ideas how to open it? I've tried the pipe but just won't open it.

If the cover of the maintenance valve is already loose, remove it and use a monkey plier to remove the maintenance valve.. that valve needs to be replace..

@@antonbacs13 Thanks! It is actually too tight and not able to open at all. The plastic cover is well attached with whatever under it... should I break the plastic and reveal the metallic parts under?

Yes, remove the plastic cover. You will be able to see the actual maintenance valve and use the monkey plier to turn the valve.. its the lime scale that made the valve too tight..

If the plastic cover is still well attached to the valve, then try to turn it harder..

Thanks for your video. I have the model sc 6.800 c. When I plug the plug into the socket, the power in the house goes out. I tested with the tester the continuity of the heating resistances. And they seem to be working. What do you think it could be?

I think your heating element is already grounded..

Try to check the heating element with your tester, one probe to the heating element terminal and the other probe to the boiler body.. If there is resistance then your heating element is grounded..

@@antonbacs13 I disassembled the tank and found many limescale deposits. And in the lower part a corrosion of the aluminum that went beyond the whole base, up to touch the resistance.

@@jack_s2k_890 Só do think the corrosion was causing the issue? I gave a similar problem with my sc5 model. I don't have anything to check resistance but I can not see any problems when I take the machine apart. I can just see a small bit of corrosion coming through the bottom of the tank.

Will not last long if you use it everyday.. 30mins to an hour of usage would be fine..

Thanks My SC5,is making steam,but it is not coming out.Descaling with karcher didnt work. Due to lockdown,i am unable to take it to shop. Any idea why the steam is not coming out?Thanks

If the steam is not coming, common problem is the solenoid valve failure.. the solenoid valve responsible for opening and closing the valve when you press the switch at the steam gun..

Its difficult to change this solenoid coil if you are first timer.. better to a technician.
