I've been saving my beer can tabs for 15 years and only have (2) 5 gallon buckets worth. I was saving them for when my kids could donate them and was told they no longer participate in that program. *Sigh* So I kept at it for years anyway. Then my niece asked me to start saving them for her school that still donates. I'm surprising her with them lol. Only problem is she gets one point of extra credit for every 100 tabs. I have like 20,000. Enough for straight A's through graduation lol!!

You can make a lot more money for your charity by selling them on eBay or Etsy. Ronald McDonald House only gets 50 cents for 1145 tabs but selling on these other sites gets you $10 for the same amount. They are buying them like crazy to make purses. Just saying.

I save all my beer tops for 2yrs (still saving). And when I noticed how much I drink, I was surprised. I been sober ever since. No AAA needed.

My man, took 30 years to make 3 wheelchairs. Could have took the cans to the bottle depot, saved that depot money , bought 3 wheel chairs flipped them and invest in more with a profit. Followed by being able to get more than a garage full of wheelchairs over 30 years. But good on ya mate.

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ each million soda can tabs is only worth $366 and he has 3 million so that's $1098, there's MULTIPLE better ways he could've spent THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, and raised WAY WAY MORE MONEY, the money raised to time ratio DOES NOT work on this AT ALL, the tab is also ONLY 5% OF THE CAN by weight, so he could've raised approximately 95% more money if he scrapped the whole can, that's an additional $20,862, or 19 TIMES what he raised, good intention but ultimately a lot of effort for what it all adds to, pretty cool as a work of performance art though, but at the end of the day it gave him a sense of purpose and that's all any of us really want anyway, and the effort matters in its own right, good work jim, i'm sure it's easier to fight on when you know someone out there that owes you nothing is fighting right alongside you, and the kids at ronald mcdonald houses across the country find strength in your effort and dedication, good work, thank you for caring and doing something

This is an amazing accomplishment... but can we look at this from a more logical perspective?... All of this work probably netted him $1,000 to $1,500 if the scrap rate is high. Imagine just asking donors for a penny instead of a tab... that is $30,000! Seems like a lot of time and effort that could've been focused on more lucrative ways to generate charity donations. Honestly, the penny dish at the gas station probably generates more revenue in a day.
