Kareem Abdul Jabbar and the late Muhammad Ali(the Greatest) two true legends who revolutionized the way black people were viewed in america.Theyr'e also beacons of inspiration for muslims everywhere, especially in the US. May Allah grant them peace in this life and the hereafter.

dogless10 Thnx for sharing ur views, I'm no well versed religious scholar but as a muslim myself it should come as no surprise to u when I say that I find David Woods' videos to be full of misrepresentation of facts as well as terribly misleading ( but I'm not trying to criticize ur views here just to be clear). Frankly speaking, I was just trying to honour these "mighty good men" and wish them all the best for the future and that's about it....

Mega Deoxyz And thx for your reply. I don’t agree with all of Woods’ views ( I’m an atheist and he’s a Christian, after all), but I think his video on Muhammad Ali changing his name is interesting.

I watched the video Typical David Wood using text without understanding:) These books were written 1400 years ago at that time there was no "white" race. Man with a fair color among dark color people would be called a "white" person. Sure Ali started as an angry black man before he turned to real Islam and grew out of the race to universal appeal. BTW people like david wood are not "Christians" rather their religion is hate to Islam and muslims. Not much they can do except fool the those who want to be fooled.

I would add that Trevor is one of the few hosts who actually reads the books of the guests, reflects on their messages, can engage in a fruitful conversations with them and asks insightful questions. As a viewer you can be pursued to go ahead and read the book instead of hearing some standard, politically correct 'speech' by most other hosts. I really think we will have him around for a long time! Good job Fella!

transylvanian No offense but you need to grow up if you blindly believe that the entire universe came from nothing. All this order was designed, everything was caused by something. Therefore, to avoid infinite regression, it's only logical that everything was ultimately caused by an intelligent all-powerful entity that was uncaused. Whether you call him God or Allah or Jehovah, the point is that He is the Creator of the Universe.

I am going to buy that book. Just in case Mr. Abdul-Jabar reads this, my dad is a very white, old man and he voted for Obama. He told me he was very surprised but happy because he never thought a Black man could be President. He also said that when JFK was running for President, he was surprised back then, because everyone said a Catholic could never be President. He voted for Jennifer Granholm, the first woman governor of Michigan. (He did refer to her as "my girl Jenny" but he's old, give him a pass on that---) He said a lot of men his age wouldn't ever vote for a female but he's open-minded. Herbert Hoover was the President when he was born and he said he never thought he would see a worse president..... he's changed his mind on that....I understand Kareem changing his name, because my mother had her name changed by the school to a more "acceptable" American name (she was born in Detroit, but her name was Giovanna, which I think is beautiful, but they said she had to be called "Jennie". The name on her gravestone is "Jennie"; not the same as the name her mother gave her. Peace and fairness everyone.

I met him a time or two as a waitress at Lum's Restaurant. The restaurant was in on what was called the Buck's Building. The bus would stop in front of the building and pick the team up. Many times a number of the team would pop into the restaurant. I don't remember anyone else, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was always respectful and polite and that I remember.

transylvanian not true. I myself a religious person. And also very reasonable. Every person has the right to be or do watever he/she wants as the constitution says. So its wrong buddy to have a general idea like that and apply it on everyone

transylvanian it’s more difficult to be atheist than being religious .. it takes a lot of effort to deny that you are born as supernatural event .... regardless of which religion should we practice, we can’t question the presence of a great creator , this is too perfect to be an act of “ chance ‘

I'm an atheist, but just because this dude is Muslim isn't a reason to discount his views or what he has done or stands for. Especially on issues that aren't directly related to his religiosity or the religion he practices. My views on religion probably aren't greatly different to the views of the people discounting Kareem, but it's particularly discouraging to see people who likely identify themselves as "free-thinkers," as I do, be so close-minded.

Actually everything he said relates directly to Islam, he might seem to be owning up to it, maybe because of the bad media against Islam, but anti pessimism is pretty much hard core Islamic philosophy
