Doc was my favorite player as a child. He would make it difficult to get his autograph. He would go through one door and leave out through another to duck the autograph seekers. I caught him talking to a pretty lady, and I walked up to him for the 5th or 6th time that evening. He didn't want to give me the autograph, but she told him to, and he did. When he looked at the program that had his picture on it and all his teammates had signed it as well as some opponents, he was surprised and made a statement like wow you got everybody. I said yes. Then he shook my hand and said, "That's great. Just running around the arena and trying to find him made it worthwhile . I think his teammates even helped me after signing their autographs by telling me where to go to find him. They would point and say he's down there, and I would run to the other location he would be there and refuse to sign . I learned a lesson about being persistent and polite. Finally, I got his autograph, and I still have that piece of memobralia.

Kareem absolutely has a presence to him. I met him once with my mom I was probably 8. I remember looking up and thinking wow he's tall. And then thinking I wanna ask him if he knows Magic 😂. I wanted to ask him for a autograph but i was scared and didnt lol.

Nothing but total respect for Charles. Great job Shannon. This was a great “interview”, or conversation.
