Yep, this is a full-blown manic episode. It's unlikely that she is on drugs as her tone would be peppered with euphoric affect and not acute distress as seen here, though it is not uncommon for untreated mania to also involve drug abuse. You talk people in this state into coming with you to the hospital, where they get them on something like 1.1 mmol/L lithium carbonate immediately. They chill out pretty quickly after that.

Agreed. People are taking this "Karen" thing too far. It's just another way for people to disconnect from having empathy for other humans in distress because of their own issues. Yes, a lot of people have oddly become entitled asshats, but shouldn't we be concerned as to why we have an epidemic of people basically losing their minds over nothing? And as to the last lady, it looked a lot to me like someone with bipolar disorder in a major manic phase. That isn't a joke, that person needs help; so, I'm sorry but everyone just standing there like lemmings and not even calling 911 for emergency service, and the people on here who think this is entertainment, are a bit more of a "Karen" in my book. We are losing our humanity folks, and it isn't going to bode well for our race if we don't get our shit together. So very, very sad, and I mean that literally, not as an insult. 😢

Why is the lady in the coffee shop being considered a “Karen”, when she’s only saying POSITIVE things?? As someone who has anxiety/mental health issues myself; I honestly think she’s having more of a manic episode, not even remotely like Karens when they’re throwing a fit & yelling about getting people fired/arrested! Honestly, I feel bad for her. 🥺🤷‍♀️

at the end she berates someone for not giving a 20 dollar tip, which tinges that tirade as perhaps a bit more self-aggrandizing to me; it doesn't help that all the positive things are about how SHE wants to do good and SHE wants to see the world off well, and SHE wants the barista's dreams to come true. Just look at how uncomfortable and concerned the barista is; it's like the barista thanked her and that was the cue to go on a tirade about how great she is, and now the poor barista is both flabbergasted and worried about the hold up in the line and how to get the person to move on so she can do her job.

How can you tell if there is “no threat of violence” when someone is behaving that way? In this clip, the woman started slamming her hands onto the counter and then started ranting at other customers that “YOU didn’t give a $20 tip!” I’m not sure the average person has the skills to “talk down” someone in the throes of a manic episode. Call an ambulance and specify a mental health/mania concern.

@@stephanien6237Outside of psychic powers there's no way of knowing if literally anyone is a threat, and mania is not characterized by violence- only volume. Calling an ambulance is essentially charging a neurodivergent person thousands of dollars for having a bad day. I don't think I need to tell you why police are not the ideal first responders in this situation.

@@bronzergoth7598 I understand and admire your willingness to help, but advising untrained people to try to talk someone out of a manic episode may not be the best advice. @@Fermion. things can go horribly wrong in any interaction with any person, mentally ill or neurotypical, at any time, so the only true way to protect oneself is to...not interact with any other human, or intervene in any situation. Also, manic people are neither as delicate not dangerous as you are assuming. The goal of the actions I described are primarily to get the person off of private property and onto public property, or somewhere that they are not drawing attention. A trespass call to 911 is automatically routed to law enforcement, and 25% of all police shootings are committed against people having a mental health crisis. I'm willing to risk it, are you?

I love those idiots that just decide "I'm in a courtroom, I know what'll help my case... if I tackle the judge." That has NEVER gone in anyone's favor. Ever!

Get a sense of humour as my black boyfriend would say to you! Sounds like she is trying a bit too hard to cover her own wrong doings and past decisions. Her conscience has obviously got to her!!

@@itsmek868 What happened to your ancestors is brutal and unforgivable. But there is nothing wrong in having a sense of humour, not intended personally! We Cymraes(Welsh) Have a dark history with the English. We are still the butt of their jokes, even though they are the joke for trying to destroy our culture. But I prefer to have a sense of humour as anything else destroys the soul. I do not try and compare to your history but if you find time read about it. Parch i chi a pawb arall o Cymru(Wales)UK.
